2 A.M. Surprise Guest Star At The UCB: Brooke Shields

Last night after his 10 p.m. show furing the Upright Citizen's Brigade's Del Close Marathon, which runs around the clock all weekend, MTV Human Giant star Paul Scheer promised a special surprise guest during the 2:30 show, "Match Game 76," and encouraged the audience to stay awake and come out. Well, the Huffington Post's Patrick Waldo did just that, and revealed the identity of the super-special guest: Brooke Shields.

Brooke Shields? The Liptick Jungle star and former blockbuster teenage model who famously allowed nothing to come between her and her Calvins, coming onstage inside a sweaty, hipster-filled theater on the west side of Chelsea at 2:30 a.m.? Actually, yes — turns out the show-biz icon is a fan of Human Giant, and thus becomes the latest in a long, long line of celebrity appearances at the theater, which itself has become a veritable celebrity-factory in the world of comedy over the last few years. In addition to UCB-minted stars like Amy Poehler, Jack McBrayer, Rob Riggle, Aziz Ansari and Scheer, the little basement stage has boasted cameos from Alec Baldwin, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Brian Williams, Al Franken, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Will Arnett and Michael Cera. I'm sure I missed a few but you get the point.

In any case, according to Patrick, her appearance was brief and "she got a standing ovation and a 2 minute applause break." So congratulations, Brooke, for adding "successful improv comic" to your long list of show business credits! She probably didn't wear the outfit below, but we hear it was hot enough that it would have been the most comfortable option.
