The exact number of houses owned by the McCains is a hard number to pin down --some sources say eight to ten, some say it may be more than that-- but in 2005 the McCains opened the doors to one of them for an interview with Architectural Digest. Some of the photos can be seen below. The McCains may have sold the house since the interview.

This is one of the McCain's primary residences in Arizona now, in central Phoenix. Two adjoining units on the 11th floor. Their ranch is Sedona, Arizona, is huge and is located in Yavapai County.

Senator McCain may have impaired memory caused from living in too many properties across the U.S. Heck, I know how many homes they have from reading magazine articles?!!! Scary, scary loss of memory. No wonder he thinks "rich" means $5 million. That's probably poor to him!

The Hensley-McCain ranch is in Sedona Arizona, there are condos in Coronado, California near San Diego, and reportedly several properties elsewhere, including Washington, D.C. of course. Cindy often spends time in the luxury condo in Coronado, CA, then flies out (presumably in their private plane) to meet Senator McCain in Sedona. This was recently reported in a magazine article about her.

The McCains (Cindy Hensley McCain and her trust, that is) did their north central Phoenix home a couple years ago, but it's for sale again. It's now on the market for $12 million, nearly 4 times the cost it was sold for in 2006. The city's newspaper, Arizona Republic, shows it was sold in 12/06 for $3.2 million. The home was originally her childhood home.

After the sale of that home, the Cindy Hensley McCain Trust purchased two adjoining condominiums in a new luxury condominium development in central Phoenix shortly thereafter for $4.6 million. Married to Cindy, Senator McCain benefits from living in all these residences, but his name does not appear to be on them.

There are other properties, not all in Maricopa County, Arizona. Arizona's Maricopa County Assessor has all the Maricopa County property info for Cindy McCain Hensley's properties and the Maricopa County Recorder has the deed and mortgage records.

This was Cindy's parents house that Cindy and McCain lived in (when he wasn't in Washington) and was sold a couple years ago. They bought a 4.7million condo( actually two condos they joined together) in Phoenix.

Google "Kemper Marley" and get a little history lesson on Cindy's father's mob money that McCain used to advance his political career.

As I, too, live in AZ, I generally visit my numerous dwellings by small private plane, since it's the only way to get around, don'tcha know?

Arizona, despite its growth, ranks pretty much near the bottom in any number of positive measures. If the state of this state is any indication of how much McCain cares about regular folks and/or is effective, I'm not feeling too confident.

In that video, Cindy McCain was referring to airplanes being the only way to get around AZ for a statewide campaign. Maybe you can check and see if Napolitano gets around that way when she campaigns.

According to Talking Points Memo, this house was sold in 2006, and is currently on the market for $12 million dollars (I have to say, after looking through the picture gallery from Architectural Digest, I wouldn't have thought it was worth that much).

Read more here, including an Inside Edition video tour:

I just watched the Inside Edition vid, and obviously the new owners are trying to take advantage of the McCains' new found fame. The people who put it on the market for $12 million, apparently bought the property from the McCain's in 2006 for $3 million (in this market, it's hard to believe they'll be able to sell it for that).

Most Americans can't hold on to the one home they own and this clown has no clue as to the exact amount he owns. Nice..

Meh! Only two pianos... this is no elitist. Two is an "average Joe" number of pianos.

Phonies. Pure and simple.

One of them is an upright piano, the other one is a harpsichord. He must be into Baroque music. Good for him. Although, as a musician, it kind of pisses me off that he uses both of them as photo stands.

My thoughts exactly. Both pieces must just be all for show. I would never put anything on top of my piano except for my scores. Vibration from the sound move other objects around.

When he isn't using the harpsichord as a photo stand he's liekly practicing his Bach. We all know that. When someone asked Dubya if he liked Baroque music he answered, "I didn't know music could be broke."

The McCain's don't have any sense of style. The interior of their house is awful.

I think it looks homey and comfortable. Lots of personal mementos and pictures, childrens' artwork, etc. The rooms are human scale--not grandiose. I don't know what John Kerry's house is like, but I imagine lots of gilded French antiques. I could be way off on that though.

Everyone nowadays is bulldozing houses like that and building three story Tuscan villas.

True. The outside photos are not so bad, but the inside looks like a monkey ran amok with a charge card in its hand.

The McCain's have no taste or style. What an awfully decorated house. The horrible stacked rock fireplace was popular back in the fifties. Is this really there house? C'mon!

It's the house she grew up in, so it was probably built in the fifties. She bought it from her parents decades ago. I think that retro stuff is cool, if it's original.

They sold this house recently.

Besides being clearly way above "middle class", the style and decor are absolutley nasty!

They sold this house, and moved into two condos, which they combined. Some of the people trying to get a count on the McCain houses are counting the new condo as two houses, because that's how it shows up on the real estate transaction records.

Oh look at that, the nice woman is spending time with her aging father. Who gave him that awful sweater though.

John McCain's definition of economic hardship: knowing exactly how many houses he owns.
