Barack Obama is enjoying a break in Honolulu, Hawaii in advance of the Democratic National Convention. As seen in the AP photos below, he has spent time with daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, picnicked with family and friends, gone golfing and played some basketball at a local school.

He and wife Michelle also made time for business, attending a fundraiser Tuesday night at the Kahala Hotel.

What part of "looks" do we really care about in voting for a great man for a president? What...too black, wife has a big butt...where is the thought process that consumes these issues??? Don't we really want to rally together to form a union, from a person who is totally aware of how many houses they own, and who ...ok yeah, might be slightly new at this....but so are you!!! Don't you want to just put your arms up to the universe and give credence to a man who came from where you did? Obama is an entirely self-made man, whereas Hillary used her husband's unmatched talent and prominence as a base to develop her own. Without him, no one would have given Hillary Clinton a second thought.

Ignore national polls, they are meaningless. What you need to look at is state by state races, because that will help predict the outcome.

Yes, Malia is tall. She looks like a teenager. Her mother is 5'11 and her dad is 6'3. So both of the kids will probably be tall. They are beautiful girls.

He deserves the vacation. During the primaries he had to fight Hillary and John McCain. Now he is still fighting with the Clintons, John McCain, 527's, and the other repubs.

Beautiful photos, but I agree, there should be some limitation to the amount of coverage while the Obama's vacation. When it comes to family values the Obama's out shine the Edward's / McCain's and the Clinton's. I know he has youth on his side, but so far, so good. The only thing weird, and I'm a supporter obviously, is that I thought we would have seen more former girlfriends, but none, just Michelle-that seems odd.

I can not recall hearing about former girlfriends of married candidates running for the highest office. The exceptions were when the married candidates were having or had affairs while married, like BilLC or McCain with C in while he was still married to his first wife. The msm love those type of stories. It would be disrespectful to start interviewing former girlfriends of O or former boyfriend of Michelle from when they were single. It would just seem like gossip.
