LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors have filed felony drug charges against Craig Phillip Robinson, an actor best known for his role as Darryl Philbin on NBC's "The Office."

According to documents released Friday, police in Culver City arrested Robinson on June 29 on suspicion of possessing MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and methamphetamine. He was released the same day after posting bail, jail records show.

Los Angeles County prosecutors charged Robinson with two felony counts of drug possession and one count of being under the influence of illegal drugs.

Robinson's publicist declined comment Friday. The 36-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on August 21.

He is familiar to television audiences for his portrayal of Philbin, a warehouse foreman on "The Office." He also recently appeared in the comedy film "Pineapple Express."

Let's face it if you had to deal with the daily uncertainty of Jim and Pam's relationship you would use Meth too.

i'll wait for the verdict. sounds like a plant to me. cops probably didn't know who he was, not like they should have. but it's always great when the police make a mistake. i bet they put evidence on the wrong guy. meth and e. i doubt it. now they've got to deal with the media attention they don't usually get when dealing with normal poor black folks. let's just sit back and watch how it all plays out.

Meth heads and tweakers are the worst. Very difficult to kick. Asside from a very short term rush, what does it do besides keep you awake for days, looks your teeth, give you blisters on your skin and face and cause you to lose your job, career and family and eventually thrown in jail or become a $20 street hooker called a "Strawberry'?

I wonder if he'll get a lighter sentence because he had meth rather than crack? A black man with crack does a lot more time than a white man with meth. Funny how that works.

Then there's that CNN guy (the wired Brit with a rope around his weenier walking around Central Park). He didn't do much time, and he was back on the tele in no time -- albeit a little bit less interesting :-) Why shouldn't this guy get the same leniency?

Cause the white guy on Meth is probably working a job and his neighborhood is probably kept up nice and you can't tell what is going on.

The black man has a whole neighborhood in decline due to the crack use. The houses are all falling apart, the yards are a mess. (and Yet there are nice cars out front and plenty of "bling" around their necks.

Just ride though the neighborhoods - It's obvious who lives there.

what you are seeing is people who rent homes that they do not own and therefore are not entirely in control of their upkeep. you see nice cars because some hardworking people who do not own homes instead invest in luxury like a nice car.

if you think every nice car you see in black neighborhoods then you are a fool and a racist. do the math if as you assert all of those nice car owners are dealers then they outnumber the non dealers so who exactly is doing all of the buying? you act as if the number one employer in the black community is drug sale....talk about misguided and uninformed. those are the leaps of logic you get from fox news.

perhaps you should actually talk to some people in "those neighborhoods" because you have no idea what you are talking about.

Cranky1,

Try NOT talking about things you know nothing about..

Nothing is more VIOLENT, DESTRUCTIVE and DEGRADING as METH!!

In as much as 2 years, you lose your teeth, get sores, scabs, and a lot of ailments. The most vilent crimes are committed on meth because there is absolutely no control and they become eratic.

A Crack habit is also easier than meth and its cousin heroin. Check out the INDIAN Reservations in the North West and a lot of cities in the mid-west, METH has destroyed many families and lives. LOOK at their faces and you'd dee.. 23 year olds looking like 45 year olds..

The judicial system has never been fair to black AMerican. Also a poor person tend to get a bad rap mainly because they get poor representation.

Your statements have very racist and ignorant undertones. Ignorant people tend to base their assumptions on the assumptions of other ignorant people.. Try checking out the facts.

Why do we care? I have zero sympathy for any actor who pretty much has it all. This guy may not be a star but he is apart of one of the best shows on t.v. right now. Blow it all for drugs? Go ahead. I don't feel sorry one bit.

Actually Ron Palillo is now practicing medicine at UCLA. His work in the field of endicronology is considered breakthrough.

Is it MDMA and methamphetamine? THe sentence wasn't clear. Of course, they are both very different drugs.

Either way, it sucks to be you right now, Mr. Robinson. Good luck cleaning up your act. I hope he gets rehab instead of jail.
