Competitive Eating

Hollywood Reporter:

It was only a matter of time.

The Food Network is getting into the competitive eating genre with a new series tentatively titled "Eat the Clock."

The show, from Pie Town Prods. ("Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels"), is described as a cross between an eating competition and "The Amazing Race." Two teams of contestants rush to various Los Angeles eateries and gorge themselves in face-stuffing challenges.

Have they lost their everlovin' minds?

What a bunch of whackadoodles, while people are starving or don't have clean water throughout the world.

Dumb very dumb.

God I hate Food TV.

It used to be so good....if it wasnt' for Tyler Florence, I wouldn't watch it at all. They even bastardized Iron Chef.... and have two idiot commentators who know nothing about food. No Alton! Porcini doesn't only grow in Italy! And Kevin Brach.... it's pasta..... not assthe... PASTAH!!!!

Food riots and famine all over the world but in only in America is wanton gluttony a spectator sport. Absolutely disgraceful. Write to the Food Network and shame them.
Watch your local PBS or public access station for real instructional cooking shows. There are also cooking videos of all cuisines online.

I can't understand anyone watching this. I have seen the 4th of July hot dog eating contest on ESPN and it is disgusting. The Food Network is catering to the American Idol, Dancing With The Stars crowd and abandoning its core audience.

And I thought The Dating Game was stupid. I wonder if they get points for belching? Loudness? Duration?

Food Network has become the network of crapola. First Rachel Ray, then The Two Food Dudes, now this show starring gross gluttony. No wonder why they hate us!

Food Network has gone from a fairly interesting show for foodies into just another vanilla network with more shtick than substance. They got rid of Anthony Bourdain, Chef Ming, and now Robert Irvine, essentially bleeding their network of any international flavor.
