Powell was among the possible vice presidential choices the Arizona Republican senator was thinking of when he said he would not rule out a supporter of abortion rights, a key adviser said.

who are the dimwits on this site that support a gaffe laden, vp and prez candidate with 0zero accomplishments, opinions, writings, never ran anything, could be a viable candidate with about a decade of experience under his belt 10 years from now. Two problems with this story - (1) Would McCain put a 71 year old guy on his ticket with him? I don't think so. This would constitute a potential "gerontocracy." (2) Who says Powell supports McCain? Wouldn't you just love to eavesdrop on the following scenario

John McCain: "Colin, Hi this is John. I'd like to offer you the role of VP on my ticket. Would you be willing to accept"

Colin Powell: "John, I regret to inform you I can't endorse you, and, in fact, I am voting Obama-Biden. Have agood day!"

Powell would be a great choice, which I don't think the GOP will make. They are probably stringing him along to keep him from endorsing Obama. They have always been stringing him along; he's probably used to it by now.

If McCain goesto the edge with W, Rice jumped right off with W. No way she has any credibility for an elected spot anymore. It almost seems like Georgia is a little game where she gets to use her education on a topic she at least knows history about. Not that she's applying anything but history.

I love how McCain calls on Black Americans without asking them. He didn't check with John Lewis if he wanted to work with McCain and I doubt he floated the idea by Gen. Powell as he's said he hasnt decided who he will even endorse until after the conventions. McCain seems to have a sort of plantation attitude towards Black Americans as if they are here for him to order about.

Colin Powell paved the way for the invasion of Iraq with his presentation of falsehoods at the U.N. I guess it's only fitting that he further destroy his reputation by trying to be a key player in denying the first serious opportunity for an African American to become President.

Colin Powell was led to believe that what he reported was accurate. We he found out that it was all a bunch of bull he left the Bush White House. So I don't consider his reputation damaged I look at him like I look at our country, he was lied to and he belived our President.
