Obama Ayers Ad Responds To McCain Attack (VIDEO)

Barack Obama has responded to the ad tying him to Weatherman William Ayers with an ad of his own. "With all our problems, why is John McCain talking about the sixties, trying to link Barack Obama to radical Bill Ayers?" it says. The ad was put out by an independent group, but McCain's campaign has tried to use Obama's connection to Ayers against him.

The original ad, whose creators released their donors after questioning by the Huffington Post, was funded by one billionaire McCain supporter. The group has sunk nearly $3 million into airing the ad.

According to Ben Smith, the ad is airing in Ohio.

McCain's campaign has responded in turn to Obama's ad: "The fact that Barack Obama chose to launch his political career at the home of an unrepentant terrorist raises more questions about Senator Obama's judgment than any TV ad ever could," spokesman Brian Rogers said. "And the fact that he's launching his own Convention by defending his long association with a man who says he didn't bomb enough U.S. targets tells us more about Barack Obama than any of tonight's speeches will."

Yes indeed they cannot allow the RNC to continue to spread lie and untruths about him and his family. Obama want to get back to a progressive America where all have access to succeed in our system of freedom. Many programs that allowed me and other intelligent individuals to go to college HAVE BEEN UNDERMINDED, UNDERFUNDED AND COMPLETELY ELIMINATED. Under the current President. Why, and what group in America thinks that Americans should not Adequately Fund our Educational system. The free market is about profit so to leave our educational system and healthcare system to a for profit entity is no and cannot be the final answer. We can see the results of 30 years of these policies. We are somehow allowing our school system to produce less intelligent Americans.....this is not acceptable nor is it the way to ensure that the Dream that is America is within the reach of every American. McCain and his surrogates have reached new lows. They are practically calling Obama a terrorist. McCain adopted the same sleazy rovian tactics that were used against him in 2000. That says a lot about McCain's character.

Last April, on Chris Matthews show, McCain pledged he would not use Swiftboat ads and would denounce them. Another flip-flop now he now endorses them. This clearly signals McCain does not keep his word. And he will do or say anything just to get elected. If we cannot trust McCain why should he be rewarded the election?

I despise his tactics -- they are low and slimy. Any respect I had for McCain has totally disappeared.

Furthermore every question asked, McCain answers with, but I was a POW -- as if that is an acceptable answer. By politicizing his status as a POW not only does McCain trivialize his experience he dishonours all the other POWs who likewise suffered greatly.

McCain has made a mockery of running for President.

If we cannot trust McCain why should he be rewarded the election?

FYI: Ayres has never been charged nor indicted for any crime despite McCain's false accusations.

Now this is the kind of ad that the campaign should be putting out. While the previous ads have been defensive, this one moves from defense to offense at the mid-point. And keep it up with those companion photos of Bush and McCain together. They are joined at the hip in so many photo ops. Those images need to be ENGRAVED in the minds of the electorate. Thanks for posting the link. I do agree with him, and if you had any sense, you would too. No matter what Ayer's past might be, he has obviously become a thoughtful, probing and enlightening teacher, capably commenting on the lengths our government goes to to keep the poor in rags so that fighting a war looks like a decent option.
