Montana Governor

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer gave the crowd at the Democratic Convention some red meat, repeatedly criticizing McCain and linking him to a deeply unpopular President Bush. Perhaps the line most applauded by the crowd had to do with drilling for oil in one of McCain's seven backyards. Watch his whole speech below.

I'm also a Montanan, and if you liked Schweitzer's convention speech, listen to this interview with NPR about the National ID program. It's the best interview by a politician I've ever heard, and why he is an awesome governor. I can't believe more media didn't pick this up.

Brian Schweitzer is no Bumpkin meathead. He is a very low key guy who could put smoke to most of the speakers at the DNC! I ama Republican Monatanan, Governor Schweitzer spent almost a decade in Saudi Arabia teaching the Arabs how to farm. He speaks fluent Arabic and has a better grasp on what foreign policy means than most of the current kiss ass "PC" politicians. He and Lt. Governor Bohlinger are models for the rest of the country. Just because you didnt go to Harvard does not mean you are not qualified to lead this country.

Thanks for the bio. I thought he was great, but I am an Oregonian who lives in the Western rather than the Pacific Northwestern part of the state. He would resonate very well with us. Informal, no BS, but smart as a tack.

This guy made more sense than anyone else. You have a right to be proud of your Governor. Can't wait to see what he does in the future. He will only be 60 in 8 more years... hmmm could we get him to follow Obama? That would bode VERY WELL for our country!

He did really well, with a couple big problems.

The only problems were his cowboy-like woooooo-hoo, and that ridiculous bolo tie he wears. If not for his country bumpkin speech patterns, his speech would be one of the best so far.

If the wooooooo-hoo and bolo are apart of him, why not? Looking at that convention, I see the face of America. The Republicans will be all white, suited, and flag-pinned.

I saw it all on C-Span. Did the cables and networks cover it? I've read that they did not cover Kucinich.

Schweitzer was definitely entertaining, with his cowboy accent and digs at John Sidney McCain III.
