McCain Ad: Obama "Dangerously Unprepared" To Be President

John McCain's new ad hits Barack Obama with a specific and harsh assault on Iran policy. Watch:

The AP points out that the ad is incredibly misleading:

The ad is misleading because it states that Obama said Iran is "tiny" and "doesn't pose a serious threat" without noting that Obama was comparing the threat Iran poses today to the Soviet Union, the nuclear-armed adversary of the U.S. during the Cold War ...

In calling Iran "tiny" compared to the Soviet Union and having a small fraction of the Soviet military force, he noted that direct diplomacy with the Soviets was a bipartisan policy for decades in spite of their threat.

ABC News' Jake Tapper concurs: "Today's new McCain ad -- "Tiny" ... crosses a new line into dishonesty, however, beyond whether or not it's actually airing anywhere."

Marc Ambinder addresses the inherent conflict in reporting on these kinds of ads:

McCain campaign airs provocatively misleading ads.

The press has a conundrum.

If we want to point out how misleading they are, we air the ad.

McCain's campaign wins the point.

If refuse to point out how misleading they are, McCain's campaign escapes criticism.

Obama campaign spokesman Hari Sevugan responds:

"John McCain is distorting Barack Obama's words to cover up for the fact that it's the failed Bush-McCain approach to foreign policy and the Bush-McCain war in Iraq that that have strengthened Iran and endangered Israel. While Barack Obama recognizes that Iran has been the biggest beneficiary of the war in Iraq and that the Bush-McCain fear of tough diplomacy has allowed Iran to spin 3800 centrifuges, threaten Israel, and fund terrorism, John McCain promises more of the same. If John McCain was serious about dealing with the threat from Iran, he would join Barack Obama's bipartisan effort in the Senate to step up sanctions on Iran instead of adopting the same tired, old Bush-Rove playbook."

Script For "Tiny" (TV :30)

ANNCR: Iran. Radical Islamic government. Known sponsors of terrorism.

Developing nuclear capabilities to "generate power" but threatening to eliminate Israel.

Obama says Iran is a "tiny" country, "doesn't pose a serious threat".

Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't "serious threats"?

Obama -- dangerously unprepared to be president.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.

AFTER ALL! What did Obama ever do that was significant? He could never even vote yes or no with any decision making in Congress? He did nothing really. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/19/chris-matthews-humiliates_n_87493.html

John McCain is the worst threat to national security we face.

This ad has finally put me over the top. I'm now for Warlord McCain. But I need additional information. We're at war in Afghanistan, will be within Pakistan, are at war in Iraq, should be prepared for military intervention in Iran, and McCain suggests we might commit force to aid Georgia.

Just want to know, so I'll be organized, Mr. McCain, in your first term, how many wars can we expect the US to multi-task?

Wait, here's an idea. Let's quickly bring an end to our involvement in all of them. Spend a couple of quiet months, then invade France. Cheney and McCain can easily confirm we'd defeat France quickly and easily. From our position in France, the US could begin slowly assimilating Europe. Jeez, this war planning is fun! What should we do next?

For anyone who wants to know who the "real" John Mc'Cain is, read this article:

http://phoenixnewtimes.com/content/printVersion/848709 (this is the print version, easier to read without all the ads, just close the "print" window).

Once you read this lengthy article, you will know who the real John Mc'Cain is. The woman who wrote the article is a journalist from Arizona. She has been following Mc'Cain since he first moved to Arizona to run for public office. She takes you through the Keating Five scandal and then through Mc'Cain's metamorphosis into a "maverick" (all done to rehabilitate his image). The article also takes you through Cindy Mc'Cain's stealing drugs from her non-profit. Send this article to every conservative you know. We really do need to educate the public about the real John Mc'Cain, because the MSM surely isn't going to do it.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.
----------------

I'm John Mc'Cain and I approved this lie. That's what O'bama should do. Counter the ad with the truth and when it gets to the end of the ad, put that line in (approve this lie).

The MSM doesn't have a conundrum. All they need to do is to say that John Mc'Cain is running an ad that is a lie and tell what the lie is. They don't need to run the ad itself.

Did anyone notice? They put more grey in Obama's hair. I thought the line was that he's too young. Why try to make him look older? There's no way they can age him up to Mcain.

Obama has gotten more grey hair since this campaign. I noticed it about two weeks ago and he also said it himself.

I am 31 and am about 25-30% gray already. It can be a trait passed through family lines.

One of my co-workers at a previous job had almost completely gray sideburns, and he was about 30 YEARS OLD.

It would take Iran 9 years to be able to refine enough for one bomb.

Equipment to refine the stuff down further takes years to build and test.

Just one year to test the machines. They can break and blow up if they are not perfect .

Bush knows this !!!!

The neocon scum determined to destroy Obama by any means necessary will stop at nothing, because they are insanely convinced that Obama is the enemy of Israel, or, at a minimum, a wild card because he basically financed his campaign without having to rely on the usual superrich donors for support. These fanatics can't allow any wild cards in the White House. They are much too paranoid for that. They are as crazy as Dr. Strangelove.

McCain is the one I worry a LOT about. His temper, his "MAVERICK" reputation that is a hoax since he is really a cloned Bush and his history of malfeasance re Keating 5. He did not even have the guts to call out the Bush machine that slimed his daughter and the McCain's who adopted this child who needed so much help. He and his family treated like that with no response from McCain just so things would remain calm and he could try to suck up to Bush. the guy has no guts where his family is concerned but no surprise when he calls his wife a C***. Who needs such an our of control President.

But we're not surprised, right?
I mean we aren't still going on the premise that McCain is going to run a civil campaign, right?

As soon as they realized how susceptible McCain was to suggestion, didn't the Republic Party send Rove's buddies over to whisper in his ear?
