The Politico reported last night that John McCain has chosen his VP. The New York Times has more details:

Mr. McCain's decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.

...

Mr. McCain's inner circle was described as divided on the choices, although one Republican close to the campaign said there had been no raging internal debate. Whatever the aides' opinions, Mr. McCain was said to have made the decision on his own.

Karl Rove reportedly called Lieberman and asked him to withdraw his name from consideration. Lieberman refused.

Wow, McCain sure thinks women are stupid, huh ?

Could all of the short list people have turned him down? Who would want to be on a losing ticket!!!
He had to come up with someone by Monday --so this is his choice? Poor judgment.

Animal lovers, you will be outraged to learn that Sarah Palin, beauty killer queen, pro-lifer, just happens to be a strong advocate of KILLING ALASKA'S WOLF PACKS FROM AIRPLANES and wants to join in the fun herself. This big lover of hunter would make sure to open up Anwar and every other sacred spot for drilling and big game HUNTING.
I will be on a mission to make sure this woman never gets elected. I read that she is also involved in some of those Alaskan scandals.
Thanks John McCain, for firing me up even more for Barack Obama.

Are you kidding me? Any way this plays out, John McCain is desperately using the lure of a woman to try to get himself elected. Talk about an insult.

I'm sure Sarah Palin is a nice person, a great mother and a wonderful governor to her beautiful state. She obviously has a contingent of conservatives who believe in her. What a shame it is that the Republilcan party didn't choose her as their presidential candidate. I mean, if she's that great and that qualified, why wasn't her name on the short list for president?

Unfortunately, it would appear that she is has been chosen for her qualitative value. She's there to get someone to actually watch the Republican Convention. She's there because John McCain obviously thinks that we women are so inept and stupid that we can't make a voting decision based on qualitifications...we'll just listen to grandpa and vote for any dame he flashes in front of us.

John McCain has proven, once and for all, that he is completely out of touch.

Senator McCain has picked his scapegoat. Women who voted for Hillary are not going to vote for McCain just because he selected a woman for VP. What's that noise? Alaska being drilled for oil?Would McCain have chosen a woman if Senator Obama had given Senator Clinton the VP slot? Senator McCain has chosen a little known VP to deflect the attention from himself. Welcome President Obama!

And when McCain croaks, we have a person with 1 1/2 years as Gov of Alaska as our commander in chief. Scares the spit out of me.

It won't be Lieberman...it will be Megan Withman Ebay's ceo and that would be very smart and a big problem for Obama because all the women may just vote for him because of that pick...
I'm sure it's gonna be that lady...and again, that would be really really convenient

"All the women" will never vote for that decrepit, wife-dumping adulterer who has promised to appoint judges guaranteed to turn back Roe v. Wade and does not believe women have the right to make their own decisions about their own bodies. Republican women for Choice have certainly refused to be drawn into his campaign, not that you'd know that from MSM coverage.

Maybe he offered it to his pick and they politely declined?

We already know he made the offer to Bobby J. who not only declined but pleaded Tropical Storm Gustav as an excuse for not attending the R convention.

Romney, now there would be an easy contrast fo the Rich-White bread ruleing elite and the rest of us that are trying to make it on what they leave us....table scraps. That would be..what half a billion dollars in net worth combined? Biden's net worth has been reported at $150,000 TOTAL!
