Sarah Palin

Slate:

According to both the Aug. 29 Anchorage Daily News and the June 13 Colorado Springs Gazette, Sarah Palin became John McCain's vice presidential candidate largely through the machinations of someone even younger and less experienced than herself:

The hype can probably be traced to the Web site of a 21-year-old college senior majoring in political science at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Adam Brickley, a political buff who will graduate in May, started a "Draft Sarah Palin for Vice President" blog last year and has relentlessly promoted the idea ever since.

Brickley has never been to Alaska or met Palin. But while researching potential vice presidents, he stumbled on Palin and thought she would be a good No. 2 to just about all of the major Republican candidates in the race at the time. ...The "Draft Palin" movement picked up momentum in more mainstream media, including a column last summer by Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard. Others followed, including talk over the past couple weeks from conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. [Actually, Limbaugh's been chatting up Palin since Feb. 2008; Brickley created his blog in Feb. 2007, during his sophomore year.]

Do you believe that Adam did this of his volition? If so, you are as stupid as the Republicans play America to be.
A lot of research and blogging for a full time college student.
He discovered a Governor who was in office less than THREE months?
Do you think he had help? More than the two contributors listed?
I mean real help. Help from a large organization with a conservative agenda.
Can you think of any that fit that description? I can and it is located in Colorado Springs, hometown.
The New Life Church.
You remember the New Life Church. Ted Haggard. Male Prostitute. Meth.
Yes, that New Life Church.
In the 12/9/07 blog, “Memorial to Church Shooting Victims” he states:
“I have personally benefitted from services offered by New Life Church, namely their homeschool enrichment program, with which several members of my family are still directly involved. I have also known at least one individual involved with Youth With a Mission (YWAM).”
The social conservatives created Sarah Palin as a firewall. They spent 18 months building Webcred; 18 months subtly putting her name before base. It was an investment; a hedge fund that has reaped dividends.
If McCain didn’t win the nomination: no problem. So they spent a few bucks, they can afford it. Most Americans and 90% of the Press never knew it was going on. Those that did know would forget about it by Election Day.

The following was left out of the above post due to sapce limitations:

Jame Dobson and Focus on the Family is also hedquartered in Colorado Springs.

There are no web sites that can "Link" Adam to FoF but it does not take a rocket scientist to link FoF to the New Life Chuch.

The Wiki entry for Ted Haggard states that when he left New Life he went to The Assembly of God Church in PHOENIX. He returned to Colorado Springs in JUNE 2008.

Just more food for thought.

I recently heard the speculation that Cindy picked Palin, that's why John didn't know much about her. I'm sure Cindy is a nice person, given the correct circumstance, but the Palin pick makes more sense if it was Cindy who pushed for her.

Do you remember when John McCain went to Maine to consult with Bubba Bush about his VP Choice? I would bet that Bubba told him to choose the brilliant Governor from Alaska. Why? Because that grantees a loss for McCain. Who would run in four years? JEBB BUSH?!?!

Palin campaigned for Pat Buchanann in 1996.

Here are some famous quotes by Mr. Buchanann:

If you think McCain and Bush bend to the will of the neocons, wait til' you see Palin. She'll be about as effective as Condaleezza Rice.

Puleez, I can disagree with Condaleeza on EVERYTHING and still give her more credit that to compare a Stanford Provost and Foreign Relations Council fellow to a runner-up in a beauty pageant.

No, Richard Viguerie and his ilk did so.
McCain had to look down at his notes when her introduced Palin. He couldn't remember her name. Well vetted?
