John McCain's Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin was, once upon a time, a sports reporter for KTUU, Anchorage's NBC affiliate. Below, watch a clip of Sarah Heath, the future Alaska Governor and Vice presidential nominee, anchoring a sports report in 1988 — note her discussion of the Iditarod, the now-antiquated reference to the Hartford Whalers, and her declaration that Tommy Lasorda needs to learn how to relax:

Don't yu just love it when progressives come out of their shell and show themselves for the narrow minded liberal facists that they really are.

Palin's nightmarish hair style is ABSOLUTELY relevant to the current political campaign. Imagine if she were to meet Putin or Sarkozy with that insane hairdo or those deer in the lights eyes!! Our fragile alliances hang in the balance.

Now we know why the career switch to Baby Maker, geez, she stinks. She is reading like she doesn't understand what she is saying that the goal is to read it as fast as possible. Hope she has better luck with this new career choice.

I'm a huge supporter of Senator Obama, but I have to say that I disagree with your critique of Palin's performance. She did sound a bit nervous, as if she probably didn't have much experience under her belt by the time this show was filmed. But if you pay attention, she was timing her comments to the action on the screen, particularly in the basketball clips, which played to her strength, of course. The speed of her delivery was doubtless affected overall by the visuals and the time constraints.

Those of us who live in major markets are more used to more professional "news readers", but frankly I think she did quite okay for a newcomer.

She was 24 then. Twenty years later she is the Governor. And what have you done with your life?

Can we get back to drilling and the surge? i don't like talking about families' internal business. It's bad luck.

I don't either but Karl Rove blew the lid way off that can of worms so it's open season on every national politcians family.

I'm not defending it, I'm merely pointing out the mess. And for the record, I think her teenage daughter as well as the rest of her family appear pretty normal to me. So she got knocked-up!? - it's called "life" in the 21st Century.

And yet everyone loves Keith Olberman, a failed sportscaster who turned news hack.

Exclusive: Todd Palin"s 1986 DUI Arrest Called "Lesson Learned"
September 1, 2008

Sources close to Sarah Palin tell The Brody File that the husband of the GOP Vice-presidential choice, Todd Palin, was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of alcohol back in 1986. He was 22 years old at the time. He was driving in a truck with some friends in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over for the DUI. As is customary, he was taken to jail briefly. Sarah and Todd Palin were high school sweethearts so they were dating at the time. The Brody File can also report that there was no accident or injuries.

George W. Bush wanted to be Baseball Commissioner at one time. Think about where our country would be if that had actually happened???? Maybe ESPN could offer her more money!

Why are any of these negative traits? They may not be a lifestyle choice for you but millions of Americans embrace these are fundamentals of who they are. Should they not vote for the candidate they feel best represents them?

Does belittling those you disagree with make you a better person or lend credence to your argument?

Let me spell it out for you, champ:

Every powerful national politician who loves guns, jeezus and lotsa babies is either embezzling from the Pentagon, gleefully exporting American jobs, shooting their friends in the face or all of the above.

And the mall hair.... You've GOT to love the mall hair!

Oh--I guess that's what is meant by all those women now being quoted by GOP pundits on TV as saying she "seems real, she seems geuine" must mean. Genuinely, really bad mall hair. (My guess is that there were four such women interviewed.)

Oh, but wait!!! A GOP talking head is reporting right now that Laura Bush LOVES Sarah Palin and is THRILLED with the choice!

Are we all on a bad acid trip or what???
