Gramm: McCain Supporters Aren't The "Whiners"

Former Texas Senator Phil Gramm, who stepped aside as John McCain's campaign co-chairman in July after an uproar over comments that those worried about the U.S. economy are ``whiners,'' today revisited that sentiment.

``If you're sitting here today, you're not economically illiterate and you're not a whiner, so I'm not worried about who you're going to vote for,'' Gramm told supporters of McCain at a Financial Services Roundtable event in Minneapolis on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention.

Gramm, 66, stepped down as a senior adviser to McCain in July after telling the Washington Times that the U.S. is a ``nation of whiners'' facing a ``mental recession.''

Gramm kinda caught himself in a lie there...first indicating that he was involved in the vetting of Palin, then stating he's only a supporter. The truth is of course, McCain pretended to throw him under the bus, but kept him on as a full blown advisor...now he's opening his yap again.

If the Republicans are not whiners and are so economically savvy, then why is the nation in so much debt. And what is their plan to get us out of it. No more taxes and cutting every program but the war? I haven't heard any other plan but this one yet. And McCain certainly did not pick someone who understands the economy. this is OUTRAGEOUS.
