Green Jewelry

We've seen recycled water bottles turned into flip-flops today, we've seen CD spindles reused as sandwich cases, we've seen repurposed everything in green style. But we hadn't really seen jewelry that was alive before.

Growing Jewelry is a redefinition of modern values. It is a clash of jewelry an gardening; couture and organism. The collection of this hand jewelry is designed for people in metropolitan cities and is an experiment in drawing nature toward man, as nature being the presupposition of life.

See the jewelry here

OK, I'm for all green all the time, but someone, somewhere, has waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands (no pun intended).

Moss can be dangerous to work with. I know a photo stylist that had to work with alot of moss for a photo shoot and she had a cut on her hands and the moss infected her veins and she was hospitalized for weeks.

Very silly - and the kind of people who will think it's kewl are the least likely to be able to maintain the moss, a picky plant.

I'm sure the company will sell pre-packaged, disposable moss cubes, so their customers can just replace the moss when it starts to look funky. Or sell dyed dried moss replacements - no fuss, no watering.

This is such a non-Green item - any estimates about how much carbon it took to mine the metal, smelt the metal, cast it and polish it and ship it? And yes, the knuckle-duster model is illegal in most states and many foreign countries.

I believe the device shown is called "brass knuckle", "knuckle buster" etc., is generally classified as a weapon and the possession is prohibited in most countries.

Not sure that growing grass or moss on it will stop the American police from putting a bullet into you before asking the question of how your home grown tomatoes are doing.

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk.

Do you also want to know how you can get three years on probation for buying an illegal weapon?

Or maybe I am wrong and knuckle-busters are legal in the US... just like assault rifles?

I actually believe I could support this. I'm not an environmentalist by any means but I am a capitalist. This seems like a nice blend.

This is the sign of the end . . .

Has there ever been a more pointless webpage then this "green" page?

Agreed! I keeping clicking on it hoping there will an article with some meat in it, but no.

Alas.

How does "green" jewelry do anything at all for the health of environment? It is absurd and stupid-looking. A novel distraction, if you will.

We need to hear more from Lori David on how to live lightly on the planet. (Kidding)
