The AP reports that Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman will speak tonight at the RNC:

Republicans revamped their convention plans for a second day, giving a former Democrat and a television star prime-time speaking slots Tuesday while weighing President Bush's role in the political pageantry celebrating John McCain's candidacy for president.

Certain to address the storm-shortened convention were former Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee, an actor and politician and one of McCain's rivals for the Republican nomination, and independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, the Democrats' vice presidential candidate in 2000 and now a McCain supporter. Republicans say the two will talk about McCain's life and their friendship with him.

this is one confuse convention where these idiots are running against their own disastrous record. they want to fix Washington. in that case do us a favor: pack your collective bags and get your @$$'s out of Washington. as the saying goes: we have met the enemy and it is us.

These speakers are so boring. Liberman is supposed to energize the base, he comes off like a lecturing professor, not a motivational speaker. The DNC speakers had energy and spunk these speakers just bore everyone.

10:58 PM on 09/02/2008

Joe Lieberman absolutely disgusts me.
10:54 PM on 09/02/2008
Harry Reid really ought to be held accountable for this nightmare I am seeing unfold. It's one thing for Lieberman to stand their and laud his friend's record over Obama's, but after tearing down Obama's experience and then to call Sarah Palin a "reformer"???? Unbelievable.

Harry! DO SOMETHING for once in your life!
10:50 PM on 09/02/2008

10:46 PM on 09/02/2008

10:41 PM on 09/02/2008
Funny. It sounded a lot like Thompson just said, "jihad bless America." The last three words of his speech.

Those guys are all about the PAST.
Old.
10:46 PM on 09/02/2008
Exactly. As I watched it, I couldn't help but notice how everything and everyone looked so old and white. So out of touch with the future of America. It makes me hopeful.
10:52 PM on 09/02/2008
