Jon Stewart Hits Karl Rove, Bill O'Reilly, Dick Morris On Sarah Palin Hypocrisy

Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

"In Dick Morris' defense," Stewart said, "he is a lying sack of sh*t."

Why does Rove lie about the fact that Wasilla is no where near the second largest city in Alaska?

It is, I believe the ninth largest city in Alaska and is more like Mayberry (Mt Airy is actually larger) and Palin fired the equivalent of Andy Griffith.

Why is Rove not in prison? He ignored a subpeonea from Congress trying to get at the bottom of "AttorneyG­ate." I guess "*****Gate­s" never see the light of full truth.

In all the relentless conversati­on about the "qualifica­tions" of Sarah Palin, it seems odd to me that I have not heard any person, and certainly not one of the many diligent reporters, ask about her education, or whether she has any. Am I correct in assuming she is a fully qualified high school graduate? I deduce this since she seems to have performed on the high school basketball court. Perhaps she was a P.E. major.

"Our guys" on the Democratic campaign are too timid to really hit out at the Republican­s when, frankly, the targets are so bloody easy. I mean, just their documented lies and self-contr­adictions *alone* would make a meaty -- and often hilarious -- attack ad.

And yet the best we can get Obama/Bide­n to do is say that someone is "out of touch" and make a tepid joke about "eight is enough." Eight is Enough? REALLY? Obama, do you really think the kids who support you even know what that stupid sitcom WAS? Do you really think that's a good attack?

You don't have to smear. You don't have to lie. All you have to do is what you should have been doing all along: speak truth to power. Show their lies and hypocrisie­s. Hell, you don't even have to have your own positions (and that's good, since it seems like you don't). Just show how insane the bizarro-Re­publican fantasy world is. That should be enough to sway anyone whose mind isn't already made up (which, to be honest, are the only ones who matter).
