A video that was supposed to air at the convention last night was just made available to Fox news. It's a short biography of Sarah Palin prepared by the RNC and it describes the two-year Alaska governor as "a self-made giant."

i understand she's a big fan of aerial hunting, where you go up in a helicopter fly low until you spot a moose, bear, or wolf, scare the daylights out of the animal, keep buzzing it as it trys to run away, until finally the animal is so exhausted it can't run any longer, and stops and you blast it. hunting????

The degree to which machismo and violence have been a part of this election is so sad. I will always point out sexist treatment againt women, but her views on hunting are utterly indefensible. In addition, both parties have been guilty of trying to make female leaders fit uber male stereotypes. I don't really know why women have to be portrayed as being animal-killing, cajone-having tough broads in order to appear strong to the American people.
Can you imagine a President Sarah Palin with the power of executive orders, signing statements and a Democratic Congress that refuses to challenge Bush as unitary executive?

If she is an environmentalist why is she wanting to drill into the Arctic Wildlife Preserves and why is her husband a snowmobile racer. The film shows a dog mushing team of huskies. That clip is supposed to signify she is a dog musher. She doesn't mush, nor does her husband. Mushing is a really tough sport and training and caring for those dog is a huge involvement, let alone the long rides across the wildnerness, with the musher alone with the dogs. The Palins shoot bears and other animals from the air and let's face it anyone can catch a fish in Alaska with a safety pin and a piece of string, the fish runs of Salmon and Arctic Char are so very full. I've been there, my family lives there, and let me tell you she isn't an Alaskan environmentalist. Those Alaskan folks find her a laugh and were amazed she got to be Governor, appalled also.
This film is myth making. Are we really that stupid.

The problem with this bit is that the SAME images, SAME music and SAME announcer (that you want to rip his thoat out) have appeared in all the SAME commercials that were made to paint Barrack as an elitest messiah by the republicants. So by the time it was finished (can you say 4 minutes TOO LONG!?) I didn't know whether to get on my knees and repent and drink the kool-aid or just shoot myself. AHHH.....shooting myself is so much less painful and leaves the (pro)CHOICE to me!
