"Everybody Wants To Be Italian": The Next "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"?

The 81st Feast of San Gennaro downtown kicks off next week, but it won't be the only thing Italians can revel in.

"Everybody Wants to Be Italian," a romantic comedy about a man and woman faking their heritage to win each other's heart, opens Friday in limited release.

Director and writer Jason Todd Ipson (2006's "Unrest") got the idea for the title from his Italian wife. "She would always sing, 'Everybody wants to be Italian,'" says Ipson. "I was like, 'What are you talking about?,' because I'm Danish.
