Washington Post:

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman is among several national security experts helping brief Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on foreign policy issues as she prepares to hit the campaign trail while cramming for a debate with her Democratic opponent, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Del.), in less than a month, according to officials from Sen. John McCain's campaign.

Lieberman, who was the 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee but is now an independent, has helped introduce Palin to officials of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the leading pro-Israel lobby. In a meeting Tuesday, the day before she delivered her prime-time address at the Republican National Convention here, Palin assured the group of her strong support for Israel, of her desire to see the United States move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and of her opposition to Iran's aspirations to become a nuclear power, according to sources familiar with the meeting.

This 'lady' will do the Republican thing and take the easiest way out...namely, follow the AIPAC study-guide on how to act in the middle-east and beyond, aka, if it's good for Israel then it's good...period.

My guess is that she'll be able to negotiate a pretty good contract with these guys, maybe even more than the Senator from Tel Aviv - Joe 'Himself'. Then again we may be able to count on a built in anti-semitic prejudice (is that redundant?) that could lead her into a deal - take the money then not push their agenda, but since she doesn't already have one, I refer back to the first sentence, she'll take the easy way out and 'just go along'.

Well she's already a favorite of big oil, so no need for any lessons from Cheney.

So time for some neocon training. Who better than Israel's chief lobbyist to initiate her into the rites and mysteries of neoconservatism?

Actually there is only one thing to learn. Spend American lives and teasure to remove Israel's enemies from the world, but call it something else.

Lieberman teaching Palin foreign policy?

Heaven help us.

So Sen. Lieberman is teaching Gov. Palin about foreign policy? Makes sense. But who is teaching Sen. Obama about foreign policy? (Please don't be fooled into believing he learned foreign policy while on his recent publicity tour / photo op effort abroad. ) It is difficult for one to correct a deficiency without first acknowledging it, and this takes courage as well as a realistic view of self. For me, I still cannot decide for whom to vote. But I have a little time left to watch the circus.

So you're going to put Obama at the same level as Palin on foreign policy knowledge?

You really think that if the two of them had a debate TOMORROW and got asked a bunch of questions from a (reasonably) objective moderator that Obama wouldn't kick her patootie?

Laughable.

Well, after all, as CindyLou McBush said, "Alaska is the closest part of the United States to Russia" which makes Miss Moose a foreign policy goddess.

You've got to be kidding, right? For starters, he's been in the Senate almost 4 years and served on the Foreign Relations committee.

Well Bush just announced that the US is going to give Georgia a billion dollars. You call that foreign policy? How did George calculate the amount we should give em? And for what?

Our foreign policy is the equivalent of a village idiot.

Is that the kind of foreign policy we want Barrack to learn? I would like to see him invent something new myself.

Let's see.. a State Senator and national Senator who sits on the foreign relations committee, graduated from Harvard and teaches constitutional law, who is well-traveled, well-read, well-educated and has the god-given intelligence of a genius.. A man who has organized and run the most amazing political campaign in U.S. history from the ground up, raising and managing millions of dollars, staff and volunteers from every state in the union for the past 20 months. A man who has inspired millions all over the world to consider working toward the country and the world we actually WANT..

But you think a hockey mom and beauty queen is comparable? The question is.. do Repubicans deserve another 4 years in the office of the Presidency when they are leaving the country at war, with huge deficits and a shrinking middle class that has little access to health care or quality college education.. the same people who denied the existence of global warming to our collective peril.. that lied to us and sent our sons and daughters off to die in an unjust war, endorsed torturing prisoners and wire tapping your phones.. who left people in New Orleans to die while sayingthings like .. "great job!" "mission accomplished" "weapons of mass destruction"..

People like you worry me most.

Obama has been looking at foreign policy for years. Read his books especially Audacity of Hope.
He's been in the Senate and on several committees and sub-committees where they discuss what's going on in the world. Like other senators he has staff who can brief him on daily events and give advice, but "teach"! No-one who is this close to the presidency should need teaching. They should be deciding policy. What are Palin's policies on foreign affairs. I'd like to hear a brief outline even. There's nothing!

Is this all a bad dream? Yes, she might be able to cram and memorize the capitals of Georgia and South Ossetia and the names of the leaders of the former Soviet republics - the "bilsis and vaalis and villis - but that will never give her the depth of understanding of the underlying issues possessed by someone whose education was steeped in world affairs, whose presided over international issues in the Senate, and who has studied such matters as a matter of public service. So Lieberman and the "be very afraid" Republicans are now saying a minor in poli-sci twenty years ago, dispatching the National Guard to address a state emergency, and living somewhat close to Russia qualifies someone to go toe to toe with Putin. Please. Wake me up!

Here is a simple question she won't be prepared to answer because she won't be willing to acknowledge the obvious truth -

What are the consequences of moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem (per her comment in the piece above)?

Easy to say we should move it, it is another thing to understand the impact. We gain almost nothing by moving that embassy, but we make it harder to be perceived as a country that the Arabs would trust to bring Israel to the table to negotiate in good faith. We already have a great relationship with Israel, moving the embassy doesn't really make it any stronger. It just upsets our enemies that much more and makes it hard for them to work with us.

It does not take a genius to figure this one out... thank goodness Palin has the best and brightest coaching her on more neocon foreign policy so we can continue to isolate ourselves in the world.

McCain: "Joe, I'm sorry. They won't let me pick you as VP. You're too liberal for the Republican base."
Lieberman: "That's OK, John, as long as I get to define foreign policy."
McCain: "You got it, buddy. She knows diddley about the world. You can brainstorm her all you want."
Lieberman: "Thanks, John. That's all I wanted anyway."

Lieberman, if you're so pro Israel, go to Israel and join their politics. You are no longer needed here in the US.

Most Jews will be saying the same blessing for Liberman and his new Republican friends during the upcoming High Holidays as the rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof recommended to his congregation for the benefit of the Czar: May the Lord bless and keep these people . . . far away from us.

Lieberman has obviously been promised a cabinet position. Probably Secretary of State. He knows he's in a win all or lose all situation. He is desperate for the Republicans to win. McCain, Palin and Lieberman really could start World War III. I wish this was simply exaggeration but it's not!

On a lighter note, Lieberman now dresses exactly the same as McCain. Look at them last night. Two twins? No, one's a clone, but which one?

Surely McSAME knows who's fighting WITH us or AGAINST us on any given day ... in IRAQ!?

NOT!!!

Does ANYBODY know ... who is friend or foe ... in IRAQ!?

It's common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into PAKISTAN and receiving training and are coming back into AFGHANISTAN from PAKISTAN, that's well known. And it's unfortunate ... that MCSAME/PALIN DON'T KNOW IT!!!

LIEberman's got his work cut out for him -- cramming crash-course on-the-job foreign policy training to the McSAME/PALIN dream (NIGHTMARE) team ...

While trying to criticize Obama's visit to Iraq (a week after McSAME repeatedly referred to Czechoslovakia, a country that hasn't existed since 1993), McSAME said "I think the situation in Afghanistan is serious ... It's a serious situation, but there's a lot of things we need to do. We have a lot of work to do and I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the IRAQ/PAKISTAN border."

Shouldn't we "SURGE" that serious situation on the IRAQ/PAKISTAN border!?
