When Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman returns to work this week, he can expect some arm-twisting from his Republican friends and the cold shoulder from some Democrats.

Lieberman, the Democrats' vice presidential nominee in 2000, promoted a Republican for president last week in a prime time speech at the GOP's national convention, raising questions about whether -- and when -- there might be retribution.

That's sure sounds like good riddance to me. Lie-man deserves the republicans and the republicans deserve him--a party which does not win elections on issues but on character assassination.

This would be the opportune time for Jumpin' Joe to board the S.S. GOP... the iceberg's just ahead.

He can't switch. He has to wait to see which party he thinks
is going to win the election and then follow the candidate around
like a lost puppy trying to get on the ticket. One of the biggest
opportunists in politics.

And that's how Joe Lieberman became known as the man without an island...

The republicans don't want him. If they did, he would've been McCain's VP pick.

Democrats don't want him - he's a traitor. And it would seem, not a very good politician to have gotten himself in this mess....

Like him or not, he votes with Democrats 95% of the time, and gave 230k to the Democratic Senatoral Committee to help other Democrats get elected, this year. Yes, he needs to keep being hammered, but not kicked out of the caucus.

EVEN if The Democrats pick up 6 seats, and get to 55, he is one more vote to cut off debate, etc. If the Dems get to 59 without him, he becomes just as important as the vote that gets us to 60.

Let Lieberman endorse who he likes. What Democrat is going to switch because of him? What Independent does not know his game? This is his last hurrah, and it wont last.

get lost Lieberman - don't let the door hit you on the way out....

At the moment the things Lieberman agrees with his "soulmate" mcbush are: iraq, middle east policy, economy. Unless he swings all the way to the republicans, they will not accept him but are totally happy to use him. And he goes along with it because he just loves his pal SO much. He is working for two people only -- himself and johnny. What a poor excuse for a person. Good riddance.

The Republicans can have him.

Shame on Connecticut for forcing him on us. I expect that sort of thing from Kansas.

The Repusses getting Lieberman is their LOSS and it is the Dems GAIN!!!

Leiberman is traitor to his party. Previously, and I watched him say this, that he was going to speak at the Rep. convention in favor of McCain, but not poorly of Obama. LIAR What did he do? We all heard it. I don't think he should have to make the decision about what party he wants to be in. I think the dem. party should bounce him out on his arse. He is no loss. He is just another little old McCain cronny (they have to stick together cause there aren't that many left that old). I can't wait to see what he is going to do when McCain, his buddy, loses this election and he is out in the cold. Retire and fade away along with his pal.

Please RNC. take him! Then you can spend the rest of the time having a fit over his support of abortion rights, and medicare etc. And maybe we can stop having to listen to that whiney voice.

Joe Lieberman is a outspoken patriot who has long served our nation with honor. He would welcomed into the ranks of the Republican Party.

Yes, he is a patriot alright. For Israel first.

Good riddance to him, and it should have happened a long time ago.

Joe Lieberman, a man in search of his own beliefs.

Good riddance, dude.

"God only made one John McCain, and he is his own man," said the shafted Lieberman in his own tedious convention speech last week. What a pathetic dupe.

People PLEASE register to vote before October 3rd. If possible request an absentee ballot and vote EARLY. I am not taking any chances with the republicans this year; they like to disenfranchise voters, especially minorities.

So, if you don't have to deal with them on November 4th - do NOT!

In Maryland you can request an absentee ballot. The deadline is October 28. PLEASE, vote and vote early!

Timing is everything. Joe Lieberman is the reason that there IS
a Demo majority in the Senate. Now, we'll roll the dice to see if
that's still necessary.

Right now, if he departs to the Repos, it'll be 49 Demos+one
Demo-aligned independent to 50 Repos+one very cranky
lame-duck Repo VP. Not that ANYTHING legislative would
get done in the next several months, nothing that Smokin'
Joe wouldn't vote with the Repos on anyway, most likely.

Yes, but if Lieberman changes to be a repuke, he will not get to head any committees because of the seniority stuff they deal with; he will be a nobody, which he already IS and will be more so cum January.

Joe LIEberman has sold his soul.

The Repubs didn't want him to be McCane's running mate because he is Jewish. They warned McCane against selecting him because they hate him.

So what does Joey do? He endorses his "friend" and sides with a group of people who didn't want him anywhere near the ticket.

Does he have ANY common sense? These people would of thrown McCane under the bus if he chose him as his VP and now they want him to be on their side?

Joe you might as well go and sell your soul completely to the devil. Don't hold back now.
