I work at a CBS affiliate and watched this live at as it was happening. Having to see The Early Show day after day I can vouch for how dull it is. Therefore, when a spontaneous moment like this occurs it really stands out. I was particularly amused by Maggie Rodriguez's double-take and her line about "people are eating breakfast."
Who cares? He's just trying to create buzz with this clip. That's it.
Although "Cuts like a Knife" now has a new meaning, too. :P
Sorry, Bryan Adams - the best song about the year and the sexual position was written by Serge Gainsbourg "Soixante Neuf Annee Erotique"

Was that a guy or a chimney speak-singing that song? WOW.
Sorry - can't agree with you since I don't understand French.
DUDE!!! I have not heard this song is years! Thanks for the memory! I so love Serge! :-)
That show needs to invited Dexys Midnight Runners on next, and ask them what "Come On Eileen" is really about. I have my suspicions.
LOL!
Mercury Fears Have FDA Considering Tuna Sushi Ban
Jan 24, 2008 |
"Tuna Sushi could become a rarity due to concerns over mercury contamination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering filing a lawsuit that would take tuna sushi off the market in response to concerns about lab tests conducted for a New York Times article. Researchers found so much mercury in raw tuna sushi—mostly bluefin—that a regular diet of just six pieces a week could pose a health hazard and exceed the levels considered acceptable by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)." I guess I'll stick to coffee and cigatettes for breakfeast for now.
Good Morning!
Come on, he's joking. In other interviews he's done over 20 years he's said that song is about nostalgia. I think he just wanted to cause a stir on a relatively conservative morning news show. Probably that Canadian sense of humor. Rush gives silly answers like this also in interviews about their songs. (My god, I'm a Rush fan and I can't believe I just lumped these two artists together!)
Man, that's to early in the morning to hear someone talk abt that.
Bryan Adams is one of the greatest, most underrated musicians of our time. You people who mock him will regret you didn't appreciate him more when he's gone. His music will live for centuries on end. Viva Bryan!
I regret that I don't appreciate him right now. Timeless indeed.
"Summer of '68"
You do me and I'll owe you one!
As a Ph.D. and seasoned biology researcher, I have to say, "Where's the beef?" Close is about as cool as halfway pregnant. Either it replicated by itself or it didn't. What we have here is a teaser to create buzz to get more funding. When you do it, tell me about, until then, please bag it.
I would think a "Ph.D and seasoned biology researcher" could come up with a post that actually makes sense.
Um duh, "Me and my baby in '69" are some of the lyrics. This is the only cool thing Bryan Adams has ever said or performed and I now have at least a tiny bit of artistic respect for him.
