You'd have to be under a pretty big rock to not notice the shit-storm of political discourse in the news these days. Naturally, there was some spillover onto the runways as several designers and show-goers were politically loud and proud in more ways than one. Charlotte Ronson and several others, including model Iekeliene Stange, wore "No Fur" buttons to Ronson's fur-free show.

The work of the fresh new designer Elektra Printz is worth taking a look at. She's doing some stunning shirts in support of the Obama campaign -- but I can't find them on the web to give an example. You can, however, see the award-winning ball gown she designed which pays homage to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, as well as a few other things, on the Design21: Social Design Network site (http://www.design21sdn.com/people/14064).
