Obama Response Ad: WHOA, McCain Ain't No Maverick

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Adhering to the 'hit-back' policy that dictates his campaign strategy, Barack Obama released a response ad Monday evening, declaring the Republican ticket a group of wanna-be mavericks.

Titled "No Maverick," the spot replays the Obama camp's go-to "more of the same" message, only this time bringing Sarah Palin into the equation. There is even the obligatory flip-flop charge for the Alaska governor's position on the 'Bridge to Nowhere.'

Earlier in the day, the McCain camp put out a spot of its own declaring its ticket the one that represented change in Washington. The spot was dubious, arguing that Palin was always against the infamous bridge. The Obama campaign has been hitting back repeatedly with news items and press statements. This rebuttal ad, the campaign says, will "air in key battleground states across the country beginning today."

Critics charge she fired Monegan after he refused to dismiss Mike Wooten, a state trooper who had a messy divorce from the governor's sister.

Eh, this seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill political ad. "She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it?" That's the strongest they could come up with? Give me a break. Where's the Obama that inspired everyone last year? I miss him.

that's funny because i'm thinking that's a strong point to make.

I liked this Ad, however I wold have added in one more point into this Ad.

Something like this; It's said that John McCain wanted to pick a more liberal running-mate ( show pictures of Libermen & other People ) then ( show a picture of Palin ) and say; instead He changed His mind, because he was told that most of the Republican Party wouldn't back Him ( show a picture of Bush & McCain together ), then say that ain't no Maverick, that's more of the same !

PRAISE JESUS! Finally, the Obama campaign is calling the lying republican thug liars exactly what they are: Liars!

Red/Blue/Green - let's rally together to stop tabloid-worthy campaigning. Enough is enough! Our nation is in too grave a state to let issues get lost in this haze.

September 22nd (right before the debates). Let's show the candidates how to unify so we can move forward on the ISSUES AT HAND.

The ad starts out strong and then finishes weak. "You don't call that maverick. You call that more of the same". No, you call that a lie. Sorry, but it is time to call a lie a lie. Say it, not just show a headline from the New Republic with the word Lie in it. That's letting someone else speak up for and defend you.

Fight Barack! I want to see Barack finally understand that by letting the repugs get away with this, he is sending a message that he is not willing to fight. If he won't fight for himself, why should we believe that he is going to fight for us.

I give Hill and Bill credit. If the repugs were pulling this stuff on them, they wouldn't stand for it.

Funny how earlier in this campaign, McCain was running ads about Obama being a rock star, and he goes out and finds himself a cheerleader! But she does seem to have 1 shining attribute, she can field dress a moose! Anyone catch "Billo the Clown" interviewing Obama? Total disrespect! He and Hannity are the most biased 2 people in the media. They just want to belittle their guests and not let them talk. Don't you love it when Billo brings in his body language expert to give an unbiased and expert opinion on his latest victim's interview. Where do you get a degree like that? She has a Masters in what, hand jerking? Must come from Billo Clown University! Hey O'Reilly I have a gesture for you!

Obama has actually released the 527's to start being attack dogs so he won't have to.
I am wondering if this ad is one of those because Obama does not "approve" this one.

What are you talking about, he says he "approves this message" at the beginning of the ad.
09:13 PM on 09/09/2008
We need to let Obama know that he has the support of the democratic party. Once he feels our support he will unleash ads and biting critiques with a fury.
07:03 PM on 09/09/2008
And now McCain has a new ad accusing Obama of the old claim of "sex ed for kindergardners". Haven't found the link yet.

Might I make a suggestion to this site to start an "adwatch" section somewhere pointing out all the new ads for each side and any commentary on them?

WHY ARE OBAMA AND BIDEN SO AFRAID to attack her? She should be treated like a person trying to take over this country not as a "little girl". I'm telling you that most people will see that if she can't take a verbal beating from Biden then she is not strong enough to take over America and meet with Putin etc. So it would be in their interests to ATTACK her and John Mccain, duh!

Agree completely. This is a war for the future of our country and our children. Take off the gloves and bloody their lying faces. They are cowards. The more light that is shone on their crap, the more likely they will fail.

Why are you so afraid of letting him run his own campaign?

Why does Obama repeat the Republican tag lines all of the time?

"Maverick" is a word they should NEVER USE. They should say "McCain says he's the Washington outsider. After 26 years in Washington, it he must be the OTHER McCain." Or SOMETHING - ANYTHING but repeating the GOP propaganda lines.
