The Hill reports:

John McCain's daughter Meghan is not taking offense to Barack Obama's "lipstick on a pig" line like the rest of her father's campaign, pointing out Wednesday morning that GOP presidential nominee has been known to use the phrase.

"I've heard my dad say that, the term 'lipstick on a pig,'" McCain said during an appearance on Fox promoting her new children's book about her father.

Asked directly if she thought Obama was calling Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) a pig, McCain said, "I don't know. I hope not. I mean, I hope not, but I have no idea."

Obama's statement was a reference to Palin's support of PORK BARREL SPENDING--which she lied about in her convention speech. As both a mayor and governor, she has actively lobbied for and accepted all the EARMARK CASH she could--including that for the "Bridge To Nowhere".

Did McCain trademark the "lipstick on a pig" saying? I know people that use it all the time. Get over yourselves already Republicans not "every song is about you!"

Remember Meghan McCain said yesterday that the McCain's are the only ones to know the hardships of war. The McCains are the only ways that are sacrificed for their country. That's right that is how selfish the Republicans really are.

Well I guess I will have to tell my family this, because my cousin when over to Iraq 13 months ago and we have not heard from him since. (He was suppose to be back 7 months ago.)
That just makes me sick that McCain feels that he is the only one who was a POW and has gone to war. My Grandfather was in WWII, my Father-in-law, husband, brother, brother-in-law, as well as myself have all served in the military and all of us except my brother have seen some form of war.

Obama innocently uses the generic phrase "pig in lipstick" and McCain immediately assumes it refers to Sarah Palin. Well, McCain knows Palin better than I do... I will take his word for it.

I'm surprised they didn't edit out her comment - you know, in the name of fair and balanced reporting.

FAUX NEWS IS A DISEASE THAT IS DESTROYING THE MENTAL DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH OF CHILDREN. POISON. HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT. ARE THEY AMERICANS???

"Are they Americans?"

Not really.

Americans are for respecting differences, so long as no harm is done. These folks sell themselves as such, AND take cover under the rubric of preventing harm to people and society, but the way they define "harm" is such, that it seems synonymous with factual information, and freedom of opinion.

These are people who may have been born in this country (presumably; and with the exception of Rupert Murdock, whose only connection to America is that he worships at Saint Reagan's feet), but they don't value free and unfettered opinion, because they get their own mileage by fettering it, shaping it to suit their own purposes.

They think of America and American public opinion as both a resource and as the tools for developing said resource for their own ends. And that end is sufficiently summed up in the word "profit."

when mc*gaffe or all the other gop cronies say it, it's clever, when obama says it it's sexist, go figure!

Ms. McCain thinks that my families generations of sacrifice for our nation in uniform during every war our nation has ever fought is meaningless.
That is the McCain straight talk. Only their sacrifices matter.
As they collect their millions in war profiteering and build their treasure houses financed with money soaked with the blood of thousands of Americans.

Nobody in Obama's audience thought he was talking about Sarah Palin.

But in their hasty reaction to the "pig" remark, the McCain team's made it clear what they really think of her.

Not to sound sexist, but besides Mitt Romney don't politicians have boy children anymore? Or do they just ship them off to war these days and let the cutsie girls say cutsie things?

Not so long ago, children of candidates were considered to be children and politics was considered to be the realm of grown-ups. Corrupt grown-ups, but still...

Why does "lipstick on a pig" make John McCain think of his running mate? Is she that bad? Is he that sorry that he chose her?

IF MEN WHO CHEAT ON THEIR WIVES CAN BE POPULARLY CALLED "PIGS", WHY CANNOT THE REVERSE BE ACCEPTABLE?

Palin has nothing in common with a pig. Pigs are clean and intelligent and what factory farming does to them is a crime.
