Obama To Pressure McCain-Palin On Tax Transparency

Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) plans to release 10 years of his tax returns on Friday morning, pressuring his Republican counterpart, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to do the same, Politico has learned.

The move is part of a fresh aggressiveness from the Obama campaign, which wants to discredit the new posture by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) as the candidate of real change.

Disclosure, or transparency, is a big way for a candidate to make that case that during a campaign.

Also -- I think the fact that Palin's husband's been trying to get his state to secede from the nation is just cause for seeing all of his financials also. He can be covered for travel and expenses with tax dollars so let's see how much of his money went to furthering the wholly unpatriotic venture of leaving the United States and starting a new country.
Sort of makes the whole are you proud of your country question applicable in a new way -- at least Michelle never pressured us as citizens of Illinois to break away from the nation!!

* Is Palin going to release the secret emails which she is ILLEGALLY claiming "executive privilege on? … hmm … sounds like Bush? Legally: Palin’s refusal to hand over e-mails stands in violation of the Alaska Public Records Act.

* Is Palin going to release the number of secret emails - which she claims Executive Privilege on that she COPIED to her husband Todd who is NOT an elected official?

* Is Palin going to tell her cabinet to STOP fighting subpoenas?

* Is Paling going to release an explanation as to why, like George Bush, why, she starting using her personal yahoo account to do State business on?
Side Note: Palin’s move is eerily reminiscent of Bush administration ploys to dramatically increase secrecy in government, such as when White House aides switched to personal e-mail accounts to avoid subpoenas during the investigation into U.S. Attorney scandal last year:

Let's get a campaign going to ask Obama to release his DREAM cabinet members, i.e. Hillary as Attorney General, Wes Clark, Secretary of Defense, Susan Rice, Secretary of State, COME ON Obama release your dream cabinet names with Hillary up on the top of the list - that would "shake" things up !

This a very serious issue. I think we should all put pressure on the media to demand Palin's and Mccain's tax returns. They sit in washington and make laws that make us lose everything if we don't pay taxes. But they don't even prove to us if they paid their own taxes.

I want CINDY McCain's tax records too...I can't understand how the GOP could think it was ok to demand Kerry's wife should share hers, but that it's ok for Cindy to hide.

Personally, I want to see what's up with her holdings if only because then we will know whether a particular policy position of her husband's ever benefited her personally.

No one can call themselves a "change agent" if they aren't transparent with their holdings, sorry folks!

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Palin's tax returns. And if we do, I wouldn't be surprised that on top of all of her other extremist views, she and her first dude are tax protesters too, making the simple assumption that all of that per diem money in the news the last couple of days, never got reported. Maybe we should take a page out of the FBI's approach in the 30's when since they couldn't get Al Capone for any of his other crimes, they went after him for tax evasion. And they succeeded. Just a thought.

Education standards need to be improved - creative thought process - able to answer a question in more than one word sentences. economy - right this sinking ship - remove any obligation to big business. Bring our jobs back - build jobs thru infrastructure repairs, new solar wind and renewable energy - I want my taxes to have meaning.

stop this madness. be sure your voter registration is accurate. wrong address could nullify your vote.
