Palin

The New York Times reported last week that when Sarah Palin went back to Alaska, she dropped some dubious claims from her oft-repeated stump speech.

Those lines are back, Fox News reports:

In her first campaign event since she left her native state of Alaska, Sarah Palin brought back some lines to her stump speech that she took out for the hometown crowds in Fairbanks and Anchorage.

She told the cheering crowd of a few thousand here that she and her running mate are reformers. To prove her maverick past she repeated an anecdote wildly told on the trail, but eliminated in Alaska. That she got rid of the Alaska Governor's private jet and put it on EBay. She does not add that the plane did not sell on EBay and it had to be taken off the website and then sold through a broker.

She also brought back a line about one of the more infamous pork barrel projects in the country, "I told Congress thanks but no thanks on that Bridge to Nowhere and if our state wanted a bridge we would build it ourselves."

And CNN finds Palin's shifting talking points extend to other issues:

Consider her speech Saturday in Nevada, site of the proposed Yucca Mountain Repository, a controversial project that would store radioactive waste in Nevadans' backyard. At nearly every campaign stop over the last two weeks, Palin has touted McCain's plan to expand nuclear energy, including storage and reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel.

"In a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to expand nuclear energy, expand our use of alternative fuels, and drill now to make this nation energy independent," she said to cheers last week in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

But in Carson City, where the Yucca issue hits closer to home, that remark about expanding nuclear energy disappeared.

Of course she did. Unlike the rest of the unformed American public, the people of Alaska would know her record.

Media coverage of her should be 1000% negative until she sits for an interview and addresses these lies.

I am so sick of hearing Palin’s speech of lies, lies and more lies at the campaign events she is attending. Instead of talking points they should be called “yelling points” because every time she says NOTHING OR A LIE the crowd screams. All she is doing is stating that they are going to reform Washington, cut taxes etc., but NEVER SAY HOW! The crowds eat this up. No one is holding them responsible for explaining their claims of what their plans are! This is just like the Eddie Murphy movie Distinguished Gentleman in which he cons his way into office!

I absolutely h.a.t.e. MSM. They are sitting here discussing Pa.l.in on MSNBC and talking about how "folksy" she is and about the "first dude". These people s.u.c.k!

I bet I could find more talented journalist down the street at my local high school. I can't believe these people can look themselves in the mirror talking about this nonsense when today is Black Monday. When so many people are losing their jobs and our country is going down the toilet.

Gotta run...going to go v.o.mit now!

If Palin took out the Bridge to Nowhere and ebay and chef bla bla bla she would have nothing to say!

Democrats must continue to call a spade a spade then obliterate the spin the Republicans are successful in doing then make a direct tackle on John McCain and readdress all his shortfalls. Eg. What are some of the 90% issues he voted with Bush, and one after the other attack them. I am sick of these lies and sick of Bush lining the pocket for the 5% rich which includes Bush himself. McCain/ Palin are like Hurricanes Ike or Katrina however instead of destruction contained in 3 states it will be across every state if elected. Her resume is not impressive for VP, however it will do for Governor of Alaska however not every hockey mum or governor is capable or destined of being one second away from being President of the USA. Can you imagine if McCain dropped dead soon after he was voted in and Sarah Palin is now the President of the USA? This is like a Policy Academy in the Whitehouse. We will have IranGate, PutinGate, IraqGate, RSPCAGate, WomensLibGate, EvanglGate, PLOGate, PumaGate etc not to mention blowing off a continent by mistake or taking out your own army by accident. Kiss your money and your livelihood goodbye. My advice is pull your money out of the US markets because - the economy is about to get worse.

Honeymoon with Sarah Palin is over. The bubble is about to burst - like the American economy. Hannity will not be able to shed anything new nor will want to and she will spin the same story like a parrot. Hockey mum - I can see Alaska from my window (so called foreign relations experience), no to the bridge to no where (I forgot to tell you I was 100% for it to start with), sold the plane on ebay (I forgot to tell you it was sold for a loss by brokers not ebay), sacked the chef to save Alaska $ (but forgot to tell you she rehired them or charged the state to work from home), lipstick on a rottweiler (she is tough - whopee do), I don't blink (hence this proves she has the diplomacy and judgement to be the President) and it goes on and on bla bla bla.

Gov. Palin is having difficulty resetting. Just keeps plugging along, maybe she's got it from on high that nobody from corporate media will call her on it..

If she said it nine times, in America it must be true.

Palin's mantra is to continue the lies until they are considered the truth...What a spin queen she turn out to be.

She repeated the "bridge to nowhere lie nine times." She broke the 9th commandment which says, " thou shalt not bare false witness against thy neighbor", which also means, "THOU SHALT NOT LIE", Sarah!
If she is truly a devout Christian then why does she insist on lying over and over and over again? And why do the Evangelicals condone this behavior? They should call her out on it and tell her that true Christians do not try to deceive the people of America in order to win an election!

Alaska Women Reject Palin’ Rally is HUGE!
14

09

2008

"The rally was organized by a small group of women, talking over coffee. It made me wonder what other things have started with small groups of women talking over coffee. It’s probably an impressive list. These women hatched the plan, printed up flyers, posted them around town, and sent notices to local media outlets.

Never, have I seen anything like it in my 17 and a half years living in Anchorage. The organizers had someone walk the rally with a counter, and they clicked off well over 1400 people (not including the 90 counter-demonstrators). This was the biggest political rally ever, in the history of the state. I was absolutely stunned. The second most amazing thing is how many people honked and gave the thumbs up as they drove by. And even those that didn’t honk looked wide-eyed and awe-struck at the huge crowd that was growing by the minute. This just doesn’t happen here.

So, if you’ve been doing the math… Yes. The Alaska Women Reject Palin rally was significantly bigger than Palin’s rally that got all the national media coverage!

Considering Palin has an 83% approval rating there, one has to wonder where these, supposedly 1400 people came from. I suspect most were flown in by O's campaign, I don't think you can find that many Alaskans that dislike Sarah! Speaking of candidates who were disliked in their home state remember Al Gore? He couldn't even win his, bet Sarah would win hers.

The truth simply does not matter to the people behind the McCain campaign . The calculation is simple lie ,lie . and lie again. The media has spent far to much time willing to let this go unreported. Disgraceful the real issue is us donate today to stop the lies
