Chevy Chase Compliments Tina Fey, Slams Sarah Palin And McCain (VIDEO)

Comedy legend Chevy Chase appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today to promote an environmental initiative with his wife, but spent time compliment Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Palin and slamming Palin and running mate John McCain.

"I thought it was extraordinary how well she played her and much she looked like her, I'd like her, personally i felt we didn't need the Hillary stuff, I'd like her to go even harder. I want her to decimate this woman. This woman, I can't believe there hasn't been more about it... It's just unbelievable to me this woman is actually running for vice president."

Later he said, on the importance of comedy, "The more that the nation understands that McCain has lost his mind, the better it is really."

He also talked about playing Gerald Ford and doing SNL in the 1970s.

What has McCain done for his country in almost 30 years in washington, nothing. The mans had more positions than the Kama Sutra. He was destroyed by GWB in the 2000 Republican Primaries, and then embraced the man who was the chief conductor of that destruction.

The man has no spine, if he was truly this maverick that he keeps banging on about, then he would not have gone for the presidency as a Republican candidate, but as an Independant. He's no maverick. His choice of Palin was just another indication of his willingness to appeal to the worst parts of the Republican Party, the Gun Slinging, bible thumping, anti-abortion, blind patriotism, greed driven parts of the US, you know, the one's that dont go and fight in the wars that the republicans so love to instigate. Its very easy to show courage and patriotism when the the bullets fly a thousand miles from where you stand.

It's amazing to me that some people are so deeply rooted in their biases that they would rather see this country lay to waste, than admit that McCain and Palin have sold their souls to try to get to the White House.
