Campaign AdWatch: McCain Has Had Enough Of Something, He Thinks

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

"Enough is enough!" proclaims John McCain, in his new ad, titled "Enough is Enough." But what exactly has McCain had "enough" of? The sorts of deregulation that he and his cronies have championed for many, many years, that propelled this current crisis? The lack of 9/11 Commission-style working groups, producing documents full of ideas that no one will end up implementing anyway? The sorts of venal campaigning that concerns itself with day-long, disingenuous discussions of "lipstick on a pig" even as the financial markets begin their horrific death spirals? What happens if the government bails out AIG, or the automotive industry? Will he recut the ad to read, "Okay, after one or four more bailouts, it will be enough, for real this time?"

John McCain doesn't know and John McCain isn't saying. Instead, we get a return to the heady days of his magical voyages to the year 2013, where his announced plan for America involved a) him getting elected President, after which b) some stuff will happen, leading to c) all of America's problems being solved. Anyway, enough of something is enough of something, you nation of whiners!

i don't have the hard numbers, but i'd put money down that every time a bill came up to further deregulate the market, eliminating corporate comptition and making it easy for banks to get away with these ridiculous lending practices, John McCain didn't say "Enough." He said "Aye!"

Frankly, I've had enough of McCain stealing Obama's catchphrases.

Then again, Obama might be doing better in the polls if he had capitalized on the "enough" slogan himself and hammered it home harder.

But still - if McCain's gonna throw whatever he can at the wall to see what sticks, can't he come up with his own stuff to throw at the wall? He has to take Obama's???

Maybe he's had enough of people expecting to hear the truth from him. He sure isn't answering about his lies.

I think Senator McCain is at odds with who he once was and what he did during his time in the US Senate. I imagine this is due to the fact that he cannot remember that far back - let us face it - he can't remember what he said last week!!

McCain is such a plagiarist. He has taken on Obama's campaign theme of "Change we can believe in", he us the almost identical phrase stated by President Hoover, and now he is using Obama's "Enough".

Every idea the GOP has is so far out there and full of lies and deception that it is dragging down McCain's campaign. Soooo, since they see the reality - that Obama's campaign has a winning strategy - they are going to use some of his winning campaign tactics along with their own garbage.

Think it will work? No. Those who will not vote for Obama ever, are already in the McCain's basket. The undecideds are much smarter than the GOP gives them credit for. After all, they have been smart enough so far to hold out running to McCain's side!

The undecideds are slowly coming down off the fence and joining the Obama team.

Why does it appear otherwise?

Because when it becomes absolutely clear who is going to win, their readership will wean themselves off watching/reading intently all the time and that is a loss in revenue.

Folks - you have to trust Obama and his campaign staff that they know what is best. McCain/Palin will continue to throw out flash in the pan ideas that fade quickly. Obama has a sustaining campaign that they have not had to backtrack on at all.

a few things to note here about this ad:

-The statements sound like broken sentences.
-Can't read the sources he cites or at least their "dates"
-His voice has NO passion whatsoever
-and at the end he has to point out that he is the original maverick...considering he keeps stealing Obama's ideas and phrase.

This guy is a complete dou*he bag.

You know what I'm sick to death of? I'm sick of hearing the Republicans bash Congressional spending when it's done for humanitarian purposes (Medicaid, unemployment benefits and veterans' benefits, etc.) but not when it's done to wage war and buy questionable allegiances from foreign countries. Somebody should tell them, by the way, that love cannot be bought and that prosperity that does not include the working class is doomed.

That message said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and mirrors his "in a daze" way of thinking. Wow! I can't believe he's had enough of nothing!

Oh man. That ad is heinously bad. He's tolerated the system for the last seven years that got us here. Enough is enough! He's stealing Obama's lines. McCain is a puppet in every way and he needs to lose.

Really.... I am blown away by this man. I am blown away by how so many people WANT their head in the sand. This man is clueless. CLUELESS.

Is it just me or did everyone understand this ad? I don't know what he is selling here. The economy is in crisis (okay, I got that but my 11 year old sister could have told me that). New rules, that sounds like an old word, what is it again? That's right REGULATIONS!!!! Did he speak to Phil Gramm before put out this ad?

Proof of Republican Economic Superiority

The Iraq War: Estimated cost between $1 TRILLION and $3 TRILLION, on a $14 TRILLION economy

Freddie and Fannie bailout: $200 BILLION

Bear Stearns bailout: $30 BILLION

AIG bailout: $85 BILLION

The party of fiscal responsibility took a national debt that was $5.7 TRILLION in 2000 and increased it to the current level of $9.7 TRILLION?

But the thing that would really kill the economy is healthcare for every America (yeah).

McCain has no experience in fixing any economy!
His duties in the Senate have nothing to do with budgets.
His only experience with banking is Keating 5- and look where that got him.
