McCain Follows Obama With Direct Economic Ad (VIDEO)

Hours after the Obama campaign released an economic-themed television ad with the Senator speaking directly into the camera, the McCain campaign put out one of its own.

Titled "Foundation," the spot, which will air nationally, is a bit more political than Obama's, with the Republican nominee taking direct swipes at his opponent in addition to sounding a newfound populist mantra.

"You, the American workers, are the best in the world," says McCain. "But your economic security has been put at risk by the greed of Wall Street. That's unacceptable. My opponent's only solutions are talk and taxes. I'll reform Wall Street and fix Washington. I've taken on tougher guys than this before."

Clearly, the two candidates are cognizant of the importance that the economic debate -- this week in particular -- is playing on the campaign trail. And while McCain's punchier ad could be affective on this front, it is surely ironic that, on the day Obama releases a two-minute television ad laying out his economic agenda, McCain, in a thirty-second spot, accuses him of being all talk.
