Geez. McCain should have picked Romney. Then, there would be some brains in that party. I am scared, they may get elected. It's depressing. I'm sitting here, bald, with cancer and mask (for infection) and my 401K is going down the toilet. I guess the upside to this: Considering my short life-span, I may not need it. I wish I could campaign, but I can't do that...so I guess I'll donate another $100 to Obama's campaign. A McCain/Palin win will take me on out.

McCain has a very detailed plan to get our economy back on track, it involves patting ourselves on the back for being the most super great workers on the planet and then rolling up our sleeves and doing the great work we are capable of doing.
Funny, my mom had that same plan for me when I was in grade school...
Dr. Peter Navarro, Univ Cal, economist said reading Obama's campaign comments on economics reads like a doctoral disscertation in its detail. The McCain comments on the internet contrasted , he said, reads like a high school civics paper. The difference between brains and abilitiy vs. the mediocre (which I think America craves). Can't we elect someone smarter than ourselves or a guy we want to have a beer with?
My only problem with the Stewart show has been their use of quick sound bites. A lot of the time if you watch his clips you'd think the person shown wasn't saying much of anything, but if you watch the full speech that person is saying quite a lot. It's all pretty subjective, even for a very funny comedy show.
I watched the full statements. Trust me, he showed it all.

The "democratic system"... citizens hear different positions on governing, and make informed decisions... is now unworkable.
Information does not come, three to six months later, via Pony Express, anymore. It comes instantly, via corporate-owned mass media, which tells exactly the story it wants the lumpen to hear. You want facts, truth, and rational explanations for what's going on... you have to go looking for it.
In the Entertainment State, only a technical minority are motivated to do so.
The country has grown to have too many people, and they are balkanized thusly; fact-finders vs. passive recipients. The only way that the millions of Americans who are outraged at what the Republicans and Bush have done to America can free themselves from the yoke of The Stupids, is to convince The Stupids that we truly are such libertine, Godless swine... that they really ought to secede again.
Perhaps they could call their new country "The Confederate States Of America".
