You can practically taste the delusion as you thumb through certain fashion spreads showcasing fall's "must-have" items for men. According to the style oracles, these range from priest-inspired clothing and dust rufflelike skirtlets (on offer at Prada) to high-water pants, see-through plastic rain capes, and pointy elf hats resembling felt condoms (courtesy of Thom Browne).

I think Thom Browne is having an affair with Tim Burton.

You could try making cool stuff like gear based off our favorite videogames or something.

I have said it in the past and I will say it again, fashion designers have the worst taste in clothes.

One thing that drives men such as myself away from fashion is what I see on women. Stuff that they are told is chic actually often detracts from their natural, God-given looks. I personally want to take whoever invented monstrosities such as capri pants (read: fat calf pants) and those high water trousers too many women wear now and introduce them to my fists. They are that ugly.

And no ensemble should cost $300,000 like the one that Cindy McCain wore at the GOP convention. That isn't chic, it's wretched excess.

These men's fashions are a joke. Should only be worn by circus performers.

Maybe Palin's stylist can convince the First Dude to wear one of these get-ups. That pointy hat with the bow and the pom-poms would look bitchin' on the snowmobile circuit (although he'd probably ruin it with a gaudy corporate logo).

I'm thinking it would fit in more with the Bristol Bay comm fish crowd....with the added "texture" of eau du salmon gurry.

The fashions on those pics are pukey.

Most American men (and women) are not a size 28 waist (men) or size 1 dress. That's why fashion sucks! Of course, I see lots of Drag Queens wearing better clothes than the fashion models, which is why I prefer drag queens to fashion models.

With pics like those-self explanatory

What in the world is happening to men and women's fashions? They're coming out with the most disgusting styles ever and not created for the average person out there. These men's fashions are a joke as far as I'm concerned and can only be worn by clowns.

Generally speaking, gay men love fashion

What most people fail to remember is that when these models walk on the catwalk displaying the designer's latest creations, these particular garments are not intended for mass production and purchase. It's a way for the designer to express their own view as to where they (and what they believe the fashion industry) are heading and feeling. I remember see pictures from years ago of models wearing gigantic boxes (we're talking big enough to ship equipment in) on their shoulders and dresses that resemble tulips; not exactly what I would call 'chic.'

That's right; these fashions are like the experimental car models they show at expos. It's all about the "lines" and "textures", not the specifics.
