WSJ:

As Barack Obama and John McCain battle for the Hispanic vote, a leading Latino backer of Hillary Clinton is crossing party lines to support the Republican presidential nominee.

In an interview Thursday, Miguel D. Lausell, a Puerto Rican businessman and longtime Democratic activist and fund-raiser, came out for Sen. McCain. While he said he doesn't agree with all the policy positions of the Republican candidate and his running mate, Sarah Palin, Mr. Lausell added: "I find McCain to be a sound person and a man with a track record. I know where he is coming from." Mr. Lausell had been a major backer of Bill Clinton and served as a senior political adviser to Sen. Clinton's unsuccessful bid this year for the Democratic presidential nomination.

let's get on the "pretend to care about the US" bus and join the camp that is willing to continue eroding what's left of our political process to win. I've always thought Clinton and McCain had a lot in common... they want the presidency so bad they'll do anything to get it, not because they give a flying cr** about what's happening to our beloved country. What about the idea of campaigning and governing with actual intelligence and being respectful of our intelligence in the process? What about knowing we're headed down a dangerous path and need to change the way we think as a country?

I vote for compassion, understanding, and above all, I vote for integrity! - I vote with all my heart for Obama.

This is just another 'anyone but the Black man' story. those who had made up their minds to stop Obama at all cost cannot be suaded.

I find it hypocritical that he feels that Obama should have chosen he closest opponent as his running mate, but the same expectations were not placed on McCain.

Has he not seen some of the footage of McCain lately since he says McCain has sound judgment?

Think the Clintons are not behind this concerted effort to undermine Obama? Think it's just one or two deadenders who aren't part of Clinton's inner circle?

Here's yet another example:

Notice that this supposed Clinton supporter calls Palin "qualified".

These backers of the Clinton who are now supporting McCain are poor excuses for democrats. They all ought to be taken to the woodshed and have some sense knocked into them.

The Clintons are poor excuses for Democrats, so it's unsurprising their hardcore supporters are any different.

Obama will likely win against McCain in spite of the Clintons or lack of help from them or supporters like Lausell. Obama is accomplishing his own path to victory without the Clintons. That in itself is why the Clintons have been lukewarm in supporting him...plain old green-eyed jealousy and wanting to maintain their stranglehold on the DNC! Although I've warmed up to Hillary over the weeks, I don't need much of an excuse to further dislike her or Bill. If Hillary misbehaves in ANY way which directly or indirectly causes Obama to lose this election, I'll neither forgive nor forget. Accordingly, she'll NEVER receive a vote from me for anything...ever!

Although I am not wishing it, let's say McCain/Palin wins then McCain dies within his first term. Even if he lives out his first term, he'll be 76 years old and may be unfit to continue. Either way Palin becomes the first female POTUS, forever denying Hillary that historical claim.

Hillbots, if you want Hillary as POTUS in 2012, think again if Obama loses! It'll be VERY hard to oust an incumbent ReTHUG like Palin from the WH. If Obama loses this election, it's the worst thing for Hillary as she'll likely NEVER become POTUS. Furthermore, Obama supporters won't forget in 2012 if Obama loses and the Clintons appeared not to help him. And believe me, Clinton cannot possibly win against a McCain/Palin incumbency in 2012 without Obama's remaining supporters.

Who really cares! I'm glad their gone! I pray so much Obama wins and then they really will be looking stupid! They never really cared about the cause! Why do we vote? I thought it was to make a difference! I just hate all these phoney, selfish people! They need to get over themselves! Hilary lost and they need to just get over it! You win some, you loose some!

She thinks there's a DNC plot to censor her blog posts? Uh... self-obsessed much? No one would go to the trouble. Maybe she should get her paranoia treated.

Anybody who would support McCain is either a greedy partisan republican or an idiotic wacko. There are no other possibilities.

I just wonder, how much encouragement this well known Hillary's backers needed for their timely endorsement of McCain from Hillary?

That fool said he feels Obama is not concerned with hispanics. Umm.....Obama possesses a compassion for HUMANS. I'd bet my career that McCain is far less concerned with Hispanics than Obama could ever hope to be.

Another fool who think if he defects the Republican party will embrace him....Life's lessons are hard learned.

And for the record, I'm voting for Obama, but I almost want McCain to get in there and get blamed for all the mess left in the White House. It's just that, the America we know, can't survive McCain. But the MadMax beyond the Thunderdome America shall rise under the McCain/Palin administration (if there winds up being one). I'm purchasing stun guns and lifting weights...ready to protect my bottled water with my life. Are you ready?

You can add Luchy Secaria to the list as well. Wonder why Lausell + Secaria would think that Obama wouldn’t care about hispanics? One is the latest ad targeted at hispanics, the other is things like this:

The Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.”

On the ad targeted at hispanics:
Secaira: "There goes the new politics. I don't see anything new about put-down politics. And once again, I want to reiterate that the Hispanic community has nothing to fear because they know John McCain.

"Again, he has fought against his own party on behalf of the Hispanic community and was an integral part in trying to bring forth comprehensive immigration reform. The Hispanic community knows John McCain in his home state, in New Mexico. They know what John McCain plans for. And I don't believe that they will be easily fooled by this misleading and disgraceful ad."

Lausell: "It's a very low blow on the part of the Obama campaign because it's completely untrue and completely relates Senator McCain to something he's not related to.

"It denies, basically, the basic premise of all of his actions. And, frankly, if you have a candidate that is willing to go so low, what can you expect if you elect him to office?"

Read some history of Obama's time in the Illinois Senate, he wrote many editorials for local papers.

See, this is the problem with crying wolf too many times, iVet.

You lose credibility.

Even if you're right, and what you've posted isn't some rehashed, right-wing "reformed" excerpt of the truth by the right-wingers and their hatemongers, your undying love for all that is republican quashes any credibility you might've enjoyed.

Sorry. No sale.
