Olbermann Gives $100 To Charity For Every Palin Lie, $3700 This Week Alone

On Friday, Keith Olbermann announced he had made good on his promise to pay $100 to charity every time Sarah Palin "lies or repeats a lie in the course of campaigning."

This week Keith donated $3,700 to the Alaskan Special Olympics Fund, and one lucky Countdown viewer "will win a can of Aunt Sarah's Moose Stew."

In the Todd Palin interview with Greta Van S, at the point she asked him why he thought people related to Sarah, he answered because they "juggle kid's schedules, jobs and busy lives just like a lot of Alaskans do... as well as Americans". Odd, distinguishing between "Alaskans" and "Americans". I thought Alaskans were Americans too. The extremist group he was a member of until about the time Sarah decided to run for Gov, the first time, don't consider themselves Americans. Their leader (the one who died in some explosives/bomb accident) is quoted as saying he hated the flag.

I love how calling someone out on a blatant lie is in today's day and age considered partisan hackery. Obviously, Keith is not as judicious with the Dems as the Republicans but the fact is this administration has abused its ability to lie and deceive so much that it is very likely the main reason it's still in power. Most politicians have skeletons, but mixed in with some good deeds. These clowns are just glorified con artists and I respect him for calling them out. I'll give a dollar per lie, why not.

Wow the Faux News trolls are in full effect. the new 'Work at home' craze is trolling for Fox News and the McCain campaign.

To all those who bash Olbermann and MSNBC. Yes their ratings are lower than CNN and FOX. But it has been that way forever. Their ratings are on the rise and they are finally competing with CNN, and as time goes on they will compete with FOX because they have a younger viewer, FOX is watched by older people.

Again, don't let facts get in the way of your opinion. MSNBC's ratings never amounted to a bucket of warm spit until KO showed up. He'll never pull in conservative shock jock numbers, because thinking people are out doing things and not glued to the TV. But it's a cost-effective show, and responsible journalists don't feel like idiots when they quote him, unlike the Faux crowd.
