The girl who plays a young Laura Bush is very attractive to me. She has a certain air about her.

I'm having a five star dinner w/ lots of cakebread wine, then I'm going to see this movie and laugh my ass off. It seems like a comedy, but then this whole past 8 years have been one tragic horror comedy.

How did this ever happen in America?

We put a child in charge of our very sophisticated high tech military toys.

A child with the mental capacity of a pre-teen prankster who in normal society could not be held accountable for their actions.

I think Oliver Stone will reveal the psychotic unstable petulant mentality of the man who has been in charge of our nation these last 8 years.

A man who has acted like a spoiled brat with dangerous toys, a man who robbed our treasury, gave our money away to his richest friends and helped his oil buddies by invading a country with the second biggest supply of oil in the world.

From my perspective, John McCain is no different, a man who actually seems to love war and still thinks we should have won the war in Vietnam if only we allowed the boots on the ground to do their job.

I have never heard his explanation of why we belonged in Vietnam but to some military men it does not matter, "victory" with honor, whatever that means?

Obama/Biden

Abraham Lincoln proved that anyone can be president. W proved that that's not always such a good idea.

This movie is probably the kindest tribute anyone portrayed in the film deserves.

you know what, it used to be a good thing when a president went to harvard. he is supposed to be smart, he is supposed to inquisitive. Not everyone is qualified to run this country, and if you believe that Sarah Palin is ready to run this country with everything that is going on now you are blatantly ignoring the facts. Senator Barack Obama needs to be angrier about what Senator John McCain is saying about him and the country at large. Every republican out there needs to get ready for these upcoming debates cause this race is about to be over.

Bush went to Harvard. Obama went to Harvard. We really want four more years of Harvard.

McCain went to the Naval Academy. last in his class. Sarah Palin went to like 6 colleges in only 5 years. I think that is more amazing than just going to Harvard.

Problem with your logic, if you're making academic comparisons, I'll riddle you this; three of the above candidates were serious collegiate under-achievers, the fourth started with the least and finished near the top of his class.

Obama attended Harvard LAW SCHOOL. He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University in Political Science with specialization in International Relations. His thesis was on Soviet nuclear disarmament. Bush also went to Yale (degree in History) in addition to Harvard (MBA). These are different schools and totally different areas of study, so you can't compare the two men too closely.

Palin doesn't even compare well to "W" in term of her education. She wandered aimlessly until she received an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Idaho, where she didn't even work on the school newspaper or school TV station.

Here's the third significant part

BARTLET: No. You’re elite, you can do both. Four weeks ago you had the best week of your campaign, followed — granted, inexplicably — by the worst week of your campaign. And you’re still in a statistical dead heat. You’re a 47-year-old black man with a foreign-sounding name who went to Harvard and thinks devotion to your country and lapel pins aren’t the same thing and you’re in a statistical tie with a war hero and a Cinemax heroine. To these aged eyes, Senator, that’s what progress looks like. You guys got four debates. Get out of my house and go back to work.

OBAMA: Wait, what is it you always used to say? When you hit a bump on the show and your people were down and frustrated? You’d give them a pep talk and then you’d always end it with something. What was it ...?

BARTLET: “Break’s over.”

Here's the continuation of what Sorkin has written:

McCain decried agents of intolerance, then chose a running mate who had to ask if she was allowed to ban books from a public library. It’s not bad enough she thinks the planet Earth was created in six days 6,000 years ago complete with a man, a woman and a talking snake, she wants schools to teach the rest of our kids to deny geology, anthropology, archaeology and common sense too? It’s not bad enough she’s forcing her own daughter into a loveless marriage to a teenage hood, she wants the rest of us to guide our daughters in that direction too? It’s not enough that a woman shouldn’t have the right to choose, it should be the law of the land that she has to carry and deliver her rapist’s baby too? I don’t know whether or not Governor Palin has the tenacity of a pit bull, but I know for sure she’s got the qualifications of one. And you’re worried about seeming angry? You could eat their lunch, make them cry and tell their mamas about it and God himself would call it restrained. There are times when you are simply required to be impolite. There are times when condescension is called for!

Here's what Aaron Sorkin has written for President Bartlet if he were given the chance to give advice to Obama:

BARTLET: GET ANGRIER! Call them liars, because that’s what they are. Sarah Palin didn’t say “thanks but no thanks” to the Bridge to Nowhere. She just said “Thanks.” You were raised by a single mother on food stamps — where does a guy with eight houses who was legacied into Annapolis get off calling you an elitist? And by the way, if you do nothing else, take that word back. Elite is a good word, it means well above average. I’d ask them what their problem is with excellence. While you’re at it, I want the word “patriot” back. McCain can say that the transcendent issue of our time is the spread of Islamic fanaticism or he can choose a running mate who doesn’t know the Bush doctrine from the Monroe Doctrine, but he can’t do both at the same time and call it patriotic. They have to lie — the truth isn’t their friend right now. Get angry. Mock them mercilessly; they’ve earned it.

Hey, guys!, I don't like Bush, but c'mon, Oliver Stone makes ridiculous movies about historical figures onto which he forces some odd psychological prism, usually of his own imagination. OK, there's plenty of shreds of history in there, but we can't afford to take it seriously.

American has already been too dumbed-down by passively slurping anything on a screen.

We need to deal with the REAL GW Bush, and I hate that Stone is tossing in his monke wrench.

My guess is that Stone was *too* kind--because the stuff Bush has done has been more stupid than anyone could ever make up in a mushroom-induced bad trip.

If this movie wins Best Picture during the Oscar season, it sends the signal to the American people to pay a lot more attention to the people they vote to the highest office of the world.

This movie won't make enough money to pay for itself.
Except for the far left, everyone else sees it for what it is... a divisive, partisan anti-conservative, screed and smear job.

We have better things to do and this will be on DVD faster than you can say "Sir, do you want cheese on that Big Mac?"

If this movie makes the tr0lls heads explode, I will go see it to reward Stone, even though the thought of watching someone credibly act W almost makes me as ill as watching the real McCoy does.

Wishful thinking. Bush's biography speaks for itself, no need for smears.

I think you are wrong on this one Redrover.....the acting looks really solid and the story is interesting, if really, really sad.

I predict it will do about 60 million in its US run, and 100k total world wide.

Can't wait to see the latest Conservative Romp..Who's in that one, Ben Stein again?
Or maybe Jon Voight, or Walker Texas Ranger, and the score by Ted Nugent.

Do the Conservative think tanks bulk buy movie tickets too, like the riveting books they "publish" to jack up apparent sales?
