McCain Camp Wants To Postpone VP Debate

John McCain's campaign now wants to suspend the VP debate?

CNN's Dana Bash reports that McCain officials are "trying to negotiate with the Obama campaign and the presidential debate commission" to change next Thursday's planned vice presidential debate into a McCain-Obama affair. The VP debate would be postponed to another date.

"That is what they are proposing," Bash reported. "[McCain officials] understand very well that both the Obama campaign and the debate commission have no intention of delaying Friday's debate, but...if there is no bailout deal by Friday, McCain has no plan to go to debate."

This is transparent, and futile. Sarah Palin wasn't ready to "debate" Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric - how the heck does the McCain campaign think she's ever going to be able to stand up to Joe Biden. It doesn't matter what questions she's asked - she has the same set of 10 possible responses, each and every one of which has grown stale enough to be the butt of a national joke. The best strategy for the campaign would be to draft Tina Fey and see if she would stand in for Sarah?

So, McCain wants to postpone the VP debate, well hell why not just drop her from the ticket? Because, at this point in the game he's damned if he do, damned if he don't. And,think about this for a moment if the McCain-Palin ticket do not win the Presidency. I don't believe that the soccer moms of Wasilla would elect her to be Team Captain of the Little Legal Soccer Mom Association. Her political career I believe would be royally screwed thanks to McCain. We'll be seeing her on that program on VH1 5 years from now called Where are they Now .

I was the second woman hired to work on the DEW line sites (Distant Early Warning) in 1974.
The line runs from the upper West coast of Alaska, along the top (Northern coast of Alaska) to the canadian border and then there are sites along the top of the Canadian coast.
The following post is 100% accurate.

What amazed us was a governor of Alaska would NOT know about NORAD. NORAD is a US/Canadian joint agency that moniters all incoming planes to both U S and Canada. If they do not have clearance, they are escourted out of either airspace. If they continue to enter w/o clearance you know what happens next. Yet Palin didn't even know that.

Formerly there were approximately 60 civilian personnela & 2 military oversight personnel at BAR MAIN ( Kaktovik on Barter Island) but now all the sites are reduced to manless stations.)

Very surprised Palin did not mention this. She doesn't know !

Kathleen Parker, in her column today from National Review Online, urges Sarah Palin to withdraw from the McCain/ Palin campaign. She suggests that she can "bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first". Doesn't the truth (that she is simply neither competent nor knowledgeable enough to be Vice-President) ever occur to conservatives? Do they always find it necessary to lie?

Maybe they are floating this in order to lower expectations so much that when she does only ok it looks like a win. This debate will be very formatted. Very narrow lines of questions. It's not free flow like tonights. She is actually not bad at debates. I'm just saying that the left did a great job of calling Bush an idiot before the debates, they lowered expectations, and he won alomst all of them in the spin game.

Ah, the debate expectations game. What fun. Set the bar so low that it'll be classed as a Palin win, unless she blatently screws up.

To paraphrase CJ Cregg, "At this point I feel like if and only if Palin accidentally lights her podium on fire does Biden have a fighting chance."

I can't wait for the VP Debate. I sure hope, they don't decide to make us pay for Pay Per View.
Wouldn't miss this for anything. As far as McCain, after hearing he stood up Letterman, canceled
his campaign, attempted to cancel the Presidental Debate. I have lost any faith, that he is the one
which should lead us for the next 4 years. I think he has cancelled enough, already!

I lived in AZ and know this. Read in depth of how John McCain helped the government block any further action on POWs. Why would a war hero do such a thing? Could he have something to hide? The government did not want any more reminders of their immense failure! This video is shocking and painful to watch. ASK ANY VETERAN OF VIETNAM.

What I am sick to death of is his using his POW line like he was the only one who suffered during that horrible war. My friends brother's plane was shot down in Viet Nam and they never found his body. My other friends brother died in Viet Nam. It is high time McFool get over it as my friends families have. All they have left are memories of their dead son/brother. McFool is just a characature of a human, and viewing these videos astounds me. How , knowing what he knows can he make decisions like that. He is a phony and will say anything to get what he wants. He will never be POTUS he's too unstable.

I'm starting to feel really sorry for Sarah. Her political career is ruined.

McCain is going to lose and Sarah will return in disgrace to Alaska where she will be a laughingstock. Her career is ruined because she allowed McCain to use her and turn her into an international joke.

I think she was a rising star politically and might have had a real career in Alaska politics and maybe become a Rep or Senator at some point. However, now I think the people of Alaska think she's a fool and will turn her out at the next election.

I don't share her values, but it pains me to see a woman used as a mascot and clearly placed in a position to fail because the boys needed a pretty woman on the ticket and she made the mistake of falling for their flattery.

I don't really feel sorry for her. My sympathy's lie with all of those she used and later discarded in order to get to the top of the heap in Alaska. If she can find a way to use and discard McCain, she'll do the same to him. So, in that case, I think they deserve each other.

OK McCain has almost come to the end of his "HIDE SARAH FROM THE MEDIA" plan ............. The natives are becoming restless.

So how is McCain going to get out of having the VP debate? ................... He tried to postpone the 1st Presidential debate so that the VP debate could be pushed back, but alas, Obama would not cooperate with that scam.

On OCTOBER 2ND (the day before the scheduled VP debate) Palin will come down with a bug which will affect her vocal chords, OR, one of the Palin clan will get sick and ONLY MAMA PALIN can provide the TLC.................... Then the McCain camp will send their apologies and ask for a postponement which they HOPE WILL BE SOMETIME AFTER NOVEMBER 4TH.

McCAIN IS TERRIFIED OF WHAT PALIN WILL DO AT THE VP DEBATE, AFTER ALL OF THE GAFFES SHE HAS ALREADY MADE, IN JUST THE 3 INTERVIEWS SHE HAS ATTENDED.
