Chicago Sun-Times:

Barack Obama campaign finance chair Penny Pritzker and Democratic National Committee finance chair Phil Murphy have a message for some 45 high end slackers part of the National Finance Committee: make the 1,000 calls they all collectively promised to make or they will find someone who will. That's in a memo just sent to Obama's best fund-raisers. Pritzker and Murphy are also hunting for hot prospects, asking each NFC member to come up with 25 names. The duo is offering to "research their giving history" to give them some good intelligence before they make the contact.

Former Clinton fundraiser was on Fox yesterday. She's drumming up big money for Mac. :)

Read the memo. Nobody was "chided" and that claim is a vast overstatement. If volunteers say they'll do something and then don't follow through, you find other volunteers to do the job. It's that simple. If this was medical relief and doctors didn't show up to give treatment, guess what, other doctors would pick up the slack. THAT IS ALL THAT THIS MEMO IS. I've heard much harsher language in an office building than this memo states. That memo is/was not news, but IS nothing more than a waste of internet server storage space and bandwidth.

Obama is a bone head when it comes to money - especially other people’s money.

A $100,000 state grant for a botanic garden in Englewood that Barack Obama awarded in 2001 to a group headed by a onetime campaign volunteer is now under investigation by the Illinois attorney general amid new questions. (suntimes, 2008)

In other words Obama spent $100K of Chicago tax dollars on a badly built gazebo. Now that’s a bone head you can count on.

I'd prefer that over the bonehead you're probably backing, who along with his campaign staff have a large responsibility in the "crisis" we are now facing.

You are so wrong! The democrats caused this mess and they are responsible for it.

Bill Clinton on Thursday told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac"

THIS IS OUR CAMPAIGN - He will be OUR PRESIDENT. If the fat cats won't pony up than we will. I have started a personal goal of raising $5000 for the campaign by October 1st - and time is running out. PLEASE HELP

We are now faced with the fact, my friends, that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late.

I've got to agree with the person who commented at the Sun-Times site. There's no story here. It's just the inner workings a Presidential campaign. I'm sure the same is going on in the McCain camp.

So what?

Barry will need all the money he can get as he is getting more desperate.

Unless you are an Illinois resident, then Obama's vote had no import to you. Senator Obama is representing his constituents in Illinois and he voted based on their input and his view of the overall Bill and his ability to move forward from there if elected. No one is betrayed by a Senator who showed up, voted in his representative capacity for Illinois, and had sound reasons for doing so. Now McCain was an entirely different story. He did not show up, he did not vote, and he had no legitimate reason to miss the vote. He is MY state Senator and he failed to represent me--THAT is a betrayal of his fiduciary responsibility to Arizonans. He owes me an explanation, and he will not ever get my vote to represent our State again.

Campaigns are far too long and would exhaust the most devoted of fundraisers. In January, it will be time to pressure President Obama for campaign finance reform and for shortening the campaign season. It is a colossal waste of money and energy.

McCain has nowhere to go now but down. He can run away from President Bush, but he can't run away from the Republican Party. The Republicans will be regarded from now on as "the party that wrecked America." Over the weeks ahead, as carnage in the economy and the financial markets ramps up, it will become increasingly clear. It is important that this meme be spread through the internet. I urge all commentators to adopt and spread the idea that the Republicans are "the party that wrecked America." It will work because it is the truth. Just spread the word.

I read about Pritzker...she's pretty cutthroat and likes results.
