Daily Show Ratings: Jon Stewart Drawing 2 Million Average For Record Week

JON Stewart's "fake newscast" is posting very genuine ratings.

"The Daily Show" scored its most-watched week ever last week, averaging nearly 2 million viewers a night on Comedy Central.

That's up 28 percent over its year-to-date average - and a strong indication that people are beginning to turn to comedy shows for an insight into this dramatic and confusing presidential campaign.

Among the guests last week was former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who sat for a two-part interview.

The 2-million-a-night average puts Stewart nearly on par with the "serious" cable news political pundits.

I said it before he needs an hour to an hour and a half off of cable and on the main channels during prime time or a late night show. He is the best interviewer on television. He has a great team. We need more of him.

Both Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert are simply amazing, awesome, brilliant, etc, etc, etc but do not forget Bill Maher, he is awesome too.

Jon Stewart is successful because he comes across as an everyday guy but someone who is smart. He is what a lot of men aspire to be so he has a good following (me included) He always has such a deep grasp of the issues that he speaks about, more so than most of the politicians he has on his show.

About the only relevant and truthful thing to come out of Dennis Miller's pie hole in the last decade was his comment on Stewart when he was on Miller's HBO show......"Can you believe a guy with this much talent does not have a television show?".

At the time I found it hard to believe that Miller had one. Now the worlds have aligned. Stewart is justifiably the hottest and most talented host on television while Miller is.......without a show. The difference being Jon deserves his and Dennis doesn't even deserve a radio show.

Congrats Jon.....go to hell Dennis!

I love Jon Stewart. I watch Daily Show every night. I don't like how he pandered to Bill Clinton. Enough of Bill Clinton.

I liked Clinton. I thought him intelligent and well spoken. And everything he said made sense.

I didn't care for many of his policies. But I always liked him.

And I respected everything he had to say to Stewart.

Stewart is Must-See TV! he is so good. I caught Tony Blair, good interview, Stewart grilled him a bit (not too hard, but mockingly) on his war stance. And caught Bill Clinton Tues. night, great show. These guys rock for going on his show too. Can't wait to see Barack Obama on there again.

The best one in somewhat recent memory was when Hillary, John Edwards, and Barack were all on the same episode during the primaries - it was A RIOT!

And Dem Convention coverage with John Oliver almost reached the Colbert heights the show hit during Election 2004. Samantha Bee at the Repub Convention this year was hilarious!

It has been SO good for SO long, kudos to Jon!!
