Raw Story:

The Keating Five scandal, and John McCain's role in it, has received relatively little mention in presidential campaign coverage, and at least one Fox News host seems dedicated to keeping it that way.

Appearing Thursday morning on Fox & Friends, radio host Mike Papatino tried to remind viewers about McCain's intervention with federal regulators on behalf of real estate mogul Charles Keating, who was trying to avoid regulations of a savings and loan he owned during the S&L crisis of the 1980s.

SOLVE THE PRESENT ECONOMIC CRISIS.

I'm against the $85,000,000, 000.00 bailout of our bankrupt lending industry.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000, 000 to America in a "We Deserve It Dividend."

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a "We Deserve It Dividend".

Of course, it would NOT be tax-free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000, 000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife has $595,000 .00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads.

Put away money for college - it'll be there.

Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car - create jobs.

Invest in the market - capital drives growth

Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling down which has never worked.

ECONOMIC PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

Very interesting. Bring up McCain's Keating 5 and the FOX & Friend bozo freaks out. Afraid of the truth, Doocy?

Sounds like Papantonio hit on something here...especially since the media has refused to mention the Keating 5 scandal. Keep bringing it up on FOX, Dems! Make 'em defend McCain on it.

The Senate Ethics Committee lawyer who investigated McCain over the Keating Five case, Robert Bennett (also defended Clinton in the Blue Dress Mess), said this in February 2008:

"First, I should tell your listeners I'm a registered Democrat, so I'm not on (McCain's) side of a lot of issues. But I investigated John McCain for a year and a half, at least, when I was special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee in the Keating Five. ... And if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man. I recommended to the Senate Ethics Committee that he be cut out of the case, that there was no evidence against him."

Maybe there's a reason nobody hears much about the Keating Five case anymore.

Then why can't it be public dialogue that he was accused? He was closer to the S&L scandal than any existing Washington politician and there are alot of questions he won't answer.

Obama talked publicly about Rezko(?) even though he had only bought a piecce of land from him at market price, assuring the public he had nothing to hide and offered to answer any questions publicly, why can't McCain???

I think we all know the answer to that....

Aaaargh, infuriatingly biased; he couldn't even fake it for the sake of journalism.

"Papantonio, you are being rude!"

Like he was talking to a kid. Meanwhile that sarcastic blowhard, Reagan, keeps druming on his empty barrell. Sigh!

as national histories go, it's can be a short step from "cut his mike" to "cut his throat" ...

Steve doocey is so backwards he was born old and will eventually turn into a baby.

This explains his demeanor.

Write to Fox & Friends and sure your outrage: friends@foxnews.com

Outrageous: http://www.goleft.tv/viewer.asp?v=1828
________________________________________________________________

Steve Doocy is in my opinion and I know many others feel this way a "toad" for him to be so rude to a guest for bring up a subject that directly correlates to the same issues we are having is just as relevant now as it was in the 1980's.

We see this as pure censorship on the part of Fox News that would tell an invited guest as in the case Mike Papantonio "To pipe down" and "you are rude" this is a deliberate act on Fox News to hide the truth in the matter of John McCain and the Keating 5 scandal.

If you think for a second that you can just swipe this under the rug you have got another thing coming, we will bring this to the forefront for discussion even if you don't want the American people to have this discussed.

Many American people do not know about the Keating 5 S&L scandal and it should be a discussion with the American people before they make there vote and we will have that discussion no matter how much Fox News and its henchmen do not.

Letter form an American Voter and TV Viewer

Anyone watching 'Fox and Friends' especially before an election, will have seen just how much of a Republican mouthpiece this show has become. At least Hannity doesn't pretend to be anything other than a neo-conservative. In fact they have probably become the most partisan show on Fox news. Their gushing treatment of Sarah Palin is just laughable. They can't praise her enough. Compare that to the way treat BIden Very fair and balanced!

This is definite propaganda. Propaganda is illegal. How can Fox news even get a tax break for doing the news when they are trying to suppress information? If there is a lawyer out there reading this, please, slap them with a complaint to the government organization which is supposed to oversee this. What is the name of the organization that has put the fear of God in the media lest a curse word be said? Well, they should be the ones who should come down with the same severity on Fox and all the media corporations who can be proved to have taken part in the propaganda of this administration as they do when a curse word is said. I don't believe that proving this will be any problem whatsoever. When a curse word is said, it does not kill people; but in the realm of governance, lies and suppression of relevant information can rewrite history, put the wrong people in power, get things passed that should never have been passed, prevent things that should be passed, cover up crimes, and lead to the deaths of innocent people or even war as we have seen. Some lawyer or somebody who knows a good lawyer, slapfoxwithaclassactionlawsuit.

If there's anyone who gets my blood boiling, its this guy. I think he's worse than O'Reilly and Hannity. That stu-pid smirk on his face makes it even worse.

I totally agree with your comments. Steve Doocy is the worst of the 'three stooges' on Fox and Friends. His interview with President Bush was comical. Like two long lost college buddies.

That Mike Ponkytoes or whatever the hell his name is is "hands down" the goofiest SOB I have ever seen on TV. They need to flush this guy and throw lots of water on top.
