Palinx

Another cringe-inducing performance by Sarah Palin in part II of her interview with Katie Couric.

In the segment below, Couric presses Palin to explain why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience. Palin doesn't seem to have improved her answer since she was asked the same question by Charlie Gibson.

Here's the transcript:

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--

COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

Pretty much she's not stupid, (when she makes complete sentences) but she's just not intellectual.

So what kind of people is McCain going to appoint as his cabinet members? Poor judgment is certainly an understatement. SMH

Unfortunately, I missed the Couric interview with (God forbid!) our next possible President, due to power outage following hurricane Ike. However, I viewed the video on the Internet subsequently. It has left me speechless! Now, if you ask anyone that has known me even a little while, that is a very rare condition for me to be in, if ever! But this one did it.

Can you imagine her speaking on equal terms with any of the leaders of other countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, etc.?

If "we, the people" elect McCain who has teamed up with this totally dumb, poor excuse for a VP candidate, then I believe it is about time to change from our so-called democracy into a different system, where the people would have more actual power, rather than corporate money that has led us down this path into self-destruction as a country. Notwithstanding other factors, the selection of Palin alone clearly reveals McCain's complete lack of judgement. Or, is it senility that has crept in? If this is an indication of the kinds of decisions he makes, then where would we be as a nation if he is elected by people who would rather have this stupid team than a bright young man, possibly because even in the 21st. century, they still cannot come to accept his skin color?

'fraid so. That's been what scares me everyday... until Nov. 4th. That the people, namely "we the people" will put McCain/Palin in office for ALL the wrong reasons! God help us all if that happens.

The only thing more frightening than the economic meltdown on Wall St. is the possibility of Sarah Palin being just a heartbeat away from the presidency should John McCain be elected as our 44th president. She would be an empty vessel into which the neocons wouldl pour more of their nonsense just as they had done with George W. Bush. Palin and Bush are really mirror images of each other. Frightening.

Palin is so far out of her league, as is McCain. It IS frightening.

I really wish to God I could understand what in the hell she was talking about! For instance, this line: "Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--"

Foreign countires are in the state that "I'm executive of"? What the hell does that MEAN? Russia and Canada are in Alaska? Fascinating! Do you think Russia and Canada KNOW that? WOW!

So Obama has those occasional malapropism we all expeience. These are in no way comparable to Palin's addled-brain ramblings that are totally divorced from reality.

Yikes!!!

BTW, in case you haven't seen it yet, here is a website that allows you to estimate your tax burden under Obama's and McCain's tax plans. Of course the reality may be different, but this does give an indication of where their priorities are.

Somehow this interview calls to mind that old Dan Quayle quote:

"Hawaii has always been a very pivotal role in the Pacific. It is IN
the Pacific. It is a part of the United States that is an island that
is right here."

He's starting to sounds like a genius.

Am I the only one wondering if he wanted a woman on the ticket so bad, why didn't he choose Condoleeza Rice? She and McCain have a mutual love of Bush & she might would have been a much better choice than this dingy ditz.

Republicans, would you all still vote for McCain if he had a Condoleeza Rice on the ticket?
