Court Rules Against Blagojevich Health Care Expansion

An Illinois appellate court ruled that Governor Rod Blagojevich exceeded his authority in expanding a health care program to wealthier participants.

The Chicago-based court upheld a lower court decision to halt the FamilyCare expansion. It now returns to that court to determine whether the expansion is legal.

But the appellate court noted the Blagojevich administration doesn't even know who it's signed up, how much in premium payments it's collected or even where the money is kept.

Blagojevich asked the Legislature to approve the expansion. Lawmakers and a legislative panel that makes program rules both said no.

But Blagojevich went ahead anyway.

That led to the lawsuit by a lawyer and business groups.

Does anyone remember the days when Blago emerged from the Illinois General Assembly as the fresh, new politicial outsider who promised to bring true change to a corrupt and inept Republican office?

That is a completely unfair comparison, and you know it.

Blagojevich came into politics riding on the coattails of his wife's family's political connections. Patricia's father is a Chicago Alderman.

Also, Blago's wife was a BUSINESS PARTNER of Rezko. She made at least $38k in commission off of him.

What do you mean completely unfair? Let me recap the facts:

* Both were successful attorneys who later became U.S. Congressmen
* Both tried to sell themselves to voters as "outsiders" (their words, not mine) ready to shake up the political status quo
* Both had the goal of bringing fresh ideas and change to fix corrupt Republican leadership
* Not only did both miserably fail to achieve that goal, but both are now are considered dishonest sleazeballs mired in scandal
* Both are now the biggest jokes of the Democrat Party

And what the heck does Rezko have to do with any of this?
