New York Daily News:

The world's richest man is finally opening up about his complicated love life.

Warren Buffett, whose shrewd investing has swelled his Berkshire Hathaway assets to nearly $278 billion, reveals in a new biography that "the biggest mistake I ever made" was letting his late wife, Susie, walk out the door of their Omaha home.

Buffett, 78, who spent thousands of hours talking with author Alice Schroeder for her engrossing book "The Snowball," admits he gave Susie plenty of reasons to leave.

I wonder why the tendency to pooh-pooh this admitted affair between Buffett and Graham while devoting thousands of posts about a completely fabricated affair, one which never existed and for which there was no evidence, between Sarah Palin and her husband's business partner? Do you think there is bias on this site? Tell me it isn't so!

Screw his love affair,
I want to know why Treasury Secretary Paulson was talking to Buffet before telling U.S. citizens that he wanted a Wall Street bailout.
And then Buffet ends up with a sweetheart deal of around $115 Billion deal of price reduced stock.
Screw the affair. What about this inside deal???

Indeed:

http://finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker/article/69958/Follow-the-Oracle:-Buffetts-Goldman-Deal-a-Roadmap-for-the-Government

"Warren Buffett's $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs has been hailed a signal of a bottom to the financial crisis. Whether the stock market agrees remains to be seen -- and shares were off to a fitting start on Wednesday.

Beyond restoring some measure of confidence to a frazzled market, what Buffett has done is provide the government a roadmap to how to invest in struggling banks, says Lawrence White, economics professor at NYU's Stern School.

As with the government's $85 billion loan to AIG, Buffett is getting sweet terms on his investment in Goldman:

A 10% yield on $5 billion in preferred stock.
Warrants to buy up another $5 billion of Goldman common stock at $115, or 8% below Tuesday's closing price.

"The government taking equity [makes sense], if it's not going to close the place down -- if it's going to prop it up," White says.

But the professor, who was a board member of the Federal Home Loan Bank in the 1980s, does not believe Buffett's deal with Goldman -- and/or Mitsubishi UFJ's investment in Morgan earlier this week -- suggests there is enough private capital to negate the need for government involvement.

Why do all these old people (like Barbara Walters) think we want to know about their romps?

While they think it shows that at one they they were quite desirable, all it succeeds in doing is to leave lasting visions in our heads. And they ain't pretty!

Ms Graham, a librule, had no taste for tact & romance. I mean tossing the key to Warren in public when she wanted some [one to scratch that itch]. Kept men of the old money women usually found the lady's key & lubricated condoms had been quickly, quitly place in the waist band of their pants as the party ended. If you show off some other old bawd would be tempted to steal your man for spite.

I was uncomfortable when we had to listen to all the talk about Britney's sex life.

Lewarning about Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton was just weird (but just the idea of Thornton is kinda weird).

But Buffett? AND Katherine Grham? Creepy.

A while ago our heroes were the likes of Daniel Boone, Davy Crochett, Thomas Edison, Bucker T. Washington, Henry Ford and other captains of industry accompanied by the brilliant scientists who have transformed our lives from servants to masters of our environment.
Now are heroes are the mediia created fast buck, insider trading, opportunistic wheeler-dealers that denude our working, productive citizentry for their own previleged status and power. We are entering a coarser, more primitive culture and existence.
