I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Looks like McCain-land wants to take their defense of Sarah Palin into a new level of paranoia: they are now accusing Katie Couric and CBS News of leaving Palin's strongest moments on the edit-room floor.

The accusation came from McCain's top economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin just a few minutes ago on Hardball.

Here's video:

Katie Couric is hardly Edward R. Murrow. Her questions were fair and balanced, just not in a warm "foxy' kind of way. I do believe Ms. Couric herself was as surprised as most people by the inability of Gov. Palin to answer such incredibly big softballs as Can you name A Supreme Court decision you did not agree with? or Can you name a newspaper that you read? This is not exactly "gotcha" kind of stuff. The fact that it turned into a "gotcha' moment speaks more to the governor's inadequacies than it does to Ms. Courics unfairness.

Palin was coached hard, never answered the question asked, spoke in talking points and was probably wearing a wire (like Bush did). The Dems need to bring their jamming gear to the next debate.

She can't speak extemporaneously, which is why the McCain campaign has kept her out of sight. What do you expect out of a former beauty queen and communications major from the University of Idaho?

To suggest that Katie Couric is biased is like saying that Bill OReilly is "fair" in his attacks. Couric is very fair and she shows real restraint when Palin says the incredibly stupid things she says. This idea that everyone must treat Palin with kid gloves should be enough to make any thinking person vote for the other side. Katie Couric did not need to edit her interview, Sarah Palin really IS that stupid.

I wish they would air every second of footage they have.

Now that Gov. Palin survived the debate and is still afloat, it would be an excellent tactical move to send a torpedo (release the unedited interview) into the still listing vessel. Here's a suggestion, sell it on pay-per-view. I believe there's gold in that thar hill. I would pay.

Let's not get complacent.

Yesterday, the RNC announced that they raised a record $66m in September, and the new Mason-Dixon poll said Virginia is 48-45 in favor of McCain.

The election is still close. Keep registering new voters and keep giving to Obama.

McCain was forced to pull out of Michigan because he didn't have enough MONEY. We cannot let that happen to Obama.

Based on Pal's performance in the debate, I'm confident that he's dead right on this. Shame on Couric.

Performance is the correct word....she had to study for the debate...she gave no clear answers. I have yet to hear from the McCain / Palin ticket anything that resembles details...they keep saying "we have a plan", "I know how" , but they NEVER give details. They are full of crap and as a woman, I find Palin an embarrassment.

She made herself look bad. Asking questions that a 5th grader could answer is not bad editing. Unless they edited out answers she gave that could solve world hunger or bring world peace, I think it was an accurate portrait, stupid is as stupid does. GOPers love blaming the messenger

Watch Newt Gingrich Call Katie Couric 'Enemy Camp' and George Will Call Palin a Huge Gamble

How can you edit stupidity.

CBS Please release the unedited version of the interview, we really want to see it.

This is an absurd charge by the McCain camp. If anything, they edited out her worst moments. Does anybody remember the infamous McCain "surge"/Anbar Awakening edit? They did him a huge favor on that one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDIAsS9VXiM

Personally, I've always been suspicious of CBS News' edits. For some perspective, it seems that NBC rarely, if ever, edits footage so that different parts of the tape are stringed together. They give the question and the candidate's immediate response. If they cut anything, it's usually the length, or they may simply cut a response at a logical stopping place. Then, for high-profile interviews, they usually put the ENTIRE interview up on their website, so that you can see it unedited.

this is like, blaming the dance floor to be uneven when she can't dance!

They would have to cut her completely out of the interview to improve on how she looked.

Well of course she did better in her debate when all she did was regurgitate talking points but couldn't handle anything outside of her "script." She's not going to have scripts nor 5 weeks training when she's in front of foreign dignitaries or even members of congress (we all see how these people talk to each other).

Couric's interview revealed that she can't handle the heat unless she's rehearsed. Guess what Palin, getting back to someone or answering by not answering will not help with domestic and foreign matters...you live life by acting your part not by rehearsing for it.

I bet the McCain camp plays clips of SNL and describes how they think Katie was unfair.
