Katie Couric was out shopping in midtown with her daughters when she was caught by TMZ over the weekend. The cameraman quickly engaged with the CBS anchor and followed her down the street to ask about the Sarah Palin interview.

Asked what she thinks of Sarah Palin "going after" her, Couric responded:

You know, I, I, don't know what to say. You know? I think, I feel we did a really good job. We gave her a lot of opportunities, so...

He then asked what magazines and newspapers Couric reads, after Palin failed to name one when asked the same question. Couric showed a sense of humor and responded:

Oh, all of them and any of them. Everyone lies about the Economist, but I actually read it. And I read a lot of magazines and newspapers.

With that, Couric and company went into Tiffany & Co and the video ends

I think Katie did a great job. If Palin can't answer simple questions and pay attention to an interviewer she shouldn't hold ANY governmental office.

Now for my REAL beef. This country is in trouble and all of you who insist on saying "Republicans did this" and "Democrats all do that" and "Liberals are to blame" or "Conservatives are ruining the country" had better wake up, without voters who vote in the ISSUES this country is doomed, and unless voters demand that those votes be counted this is all a silly charade.

Check out BlackBoxVoting.org if you haven't already. Learn exactly what the Federal Reserve is, and educate yourself. Personally, since neither Obama or McCain has brought up the real economic issues connected to fiat currency and economic control by the Federal Reserve, I don't think either of them deserves my vote.

Palin did accomplish one incredible feat with Couric: she made the queen of softball journalism look like a hard-hitting, no-holds-barred interviewer. Who is going to be the next one accused of "gotcha" journalism, Larry King?

Little Ashley sat on her mother"s lap and started crying.

With big tears rolling down her soft cheek she asked:

"Mommy, Why did Cindy and John lie to us?"

I had been urged to come on this site to find of what democrats and liberals think of this election and this country. I have visited here on and off for 3 days now, and now I realize how this party could have nominated Barrack Hussein Obama as their candidate. Nothing on this site is based on facts, only slights and put-downs. Obviously, facts are just a pesky little detail that gets in the way of promoting the agenda of the leftties, at least on this site...and as far as America, it is obvious the majority of Democrats and Liberals do not love or even like America....this is scary, very scary.

Another Republican winner.
Apparently they are only facts when you chose to believe them.
That's not how facts work.
Democrats and Liberals love America just not your hate-filled, judgemental America.
Still would like to know what this comment had to do with this stupid post.

unfettered, first, thank you for calling me a "'winner"...although, I don't believe that is the name you were attempting to spell. Let me tell you what "facts" have to do w/my "stupid" post.
Facts are what most educated people base their opinion on, not just talking points or the media's take on something. I know that the word "fact" doesn't exist when you are speaking about Senator Obama, but as an American, you really should educate yourself on them.
I realize that you can vote for who you chose to vote for, just inform yourself, as I have, and go to other sites (like conservative ones) and see the other side of the story, you may learn something. I sure did.

Also, unfettered, as far as democrats and liberals not loving America, read more sites like this one, and then go to a conservative site, the difference is very clear: liberals and democrats want to tear this country down, conservatives believe the best of the oountry and will even"fight" to protect it. Enough said.

If you want the facts read the Rolling Stones article on the REAL John McCain and you will learn why you are losing this election, sorry it's just the facts.

Which America are you talking about? The racist one that you live in that finds minorities and people of other religions a threat to your way of life? What if Obama WAS a Muslim. That doesn't disqualify him as a Presidential candidate. So wake up and smell the coffee. America is heading down a more decent, kindlier path. We hope you will join us in being kind and thoughtful and yes loving our country more.
cheers.

leela, thanks for the head's up on the article about Senator McCain in "Rolling Stone", i always look for political opinions in such magazines.

The America I am talking about is the one where people actually get up and go to work every morning. The hold jobs and pay their bills...if they lose their job, by gosh, they go get another one. They don't sit around whining about how the country owes them anything. Americans that I know realize that health care is NOT a right, but a responsibility, their own responsibility, not waiting for government to care of them like Senator Obama says. Racist?
I have yet to get into a single debate w/ a liberal that the race card wasn't pulled...I believe Senator McCain adopted a daughter from Indonesia..that's racist, eh?

Muslim is Republican code word for Black. It's acceptable to say, "I'm not voting for a Muslim", but no so acceptable to say, "I'm not voting for a Black".

They will label Obama everything they possibly can, and like always, try to paint Democrats as "Un-American and Un-Patriotic"....they do this EVERY election (however, a Terrorist...thats new and even lower than they've stooped before). Democrats and Liberals are made out to be evil by Republicans...and to be honest i'm pretty tired of it. I love this country as much as anyone else. I have a job. I pay my bills. I pay my taxes. I follow the laws. What exactly is peggyleg insinuating? That Democrats are irresponsible? I believe the Jokers we've had in the White House the last 8 years are the epitomy of irresponsibility and i find it insulting Repubs like PegLeg have the nerve to tell me that I don't love America. I am so tired of being accused of the exact behavior their party blatantly expresses. Go back to your Republican website and join the other lemmings and keep telling yourself that you are the educated one, and that it is you that is responsible, and that it is you that love this country. You make me ashamed to be an Amercan, both b ecause of your accusations against my character and the fact that i have to claim you as a fellow American.

Ms Couric, when Sen. Biden told you about President FDR's televised speech in 1929, and you didn't react to it, did you:
1) know that FDR became president in January of 1933, and
2) know that there was no commercial television in 1929?

Thank you.

Katie, thanks for your candor, and thanks for "tolerating" that "three dollar bill" with grace.
She is one of the most nefarious political foists of our lifetime!
If she and "that other one" are elected, we will have been guilty of self-immolation!

Did anyone else notice the quote from Katie Couric above contained 2 "you know's"? Hmmmm, for such an intellectual, that's not good. And she answered the question not so different from Gov. Palin. All of the attempts by the media and the liberals have not dulled Gov. Palin's star, it is almost like the democrats are running against her instead of Senator McCain. It is my opinion that Gov. Palin represents everything liberals hate: she's white, she's female, she's smart, she's attractive, she's pro-life(and she doesn't just say she's pro-life, she lives it), she's sucessful, and she's conservative. Sounds like a great Vice President!

Katie Couric isn't running for the second highest office in the country.
She reads cue cards and teleprompters for a living.
Sarah Palin is a corrupt politician who smiles while she preaches hate and fear.
Sounds like a great grand marshal of the Klan .

The media interview score is Biden : 90+ interviews since Dem. convention
Palin : 3 + interviews since Gop. convention
If Palin gives an honest no holds barred interview before the election hell will freeze over.

Right on, Katie, the Palin interview was a great piece of journalism - and a service to America. Certainly your kind tenacious approach to Ms.Palin proved that you are worthy of your position and a credit to your profession and gender....
I loved the juxtaposition of Thoughtful Katie v. Thoughtless Sarah.
A p.s. to Tom "in the tank for McCain" Brokaw - as debate moderator C-. You argued with Obama and caved to McCain every chance you had. Also seems you lost your ability to ad lib your way out of the closing - though "get out of my way" certainly did echo America's sentiment to McCain -

Gov Palin would get the same opportunity to state her case as all the nominees do.

By choosing her as his VP, McCain is saying she is the best Republician to help him on the ticket.

I think the McCain campaign is parsing this media bias B/S, becos they know she is inadequate for the job and by keeping her cloistered from questioning by the press and even the public, they are essentially contolling the information one can attain from listening to her responses.

I find this very undemocratic.

What's with the white outfits that Palin is wearing lately? I know that it is a political ploy of some sort, but what are they trying to convey?

She just looks like Nurse Rachett in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" to me.

old_lady, you are correct, no white after Labor Day and before Easter. But there's one problem to your comment, that applies to shoes, belts, purses, AND, these days, in the modern era, there is a color considered "winter" white. But I'm with you, Joe six-pack is too loaded to follow the rules...
