New York Daily News:

It's getting McNasty again.

...

McCain's course correction reflects a growing case of nerves within his high command as the electoral map has shifted significantly in Obama's favor in the past two weeks.

"It's a dangerous road, but we have no choice," a top McCain strategist told the Daily News. "If we keep talking about the economic crisis, we're going to lose."

To have a better understanding of what caused the financial crisis and how we can remedy it please read a post titled "Why is the United States undergoing a political and Financial Crisis?" and watch the third video down labeled "The Money Masters" at:

So McPalin has a choice: either

1. They talk about the economy and lose, or they

2. Avoid talking about the economy and lose.

I hope they pick either of those choices.

Let's talk Economy:
Most of the economic sectors facing challenge right now are in some way or another under the Democratic congress’s oversight. For instance the banking crisis might have been caught earlier had Chris Dodd done his job as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, instead of getting sweetheart deals from Countrywide Financial and running for President. Fact is that during his run for President he was missing in action on the committee for much of the 2007 session.
Before Democratic Congress
1.Consumer confidence stood at a 5-year high;
2. Regular gasoline averaged under $2.30 a gallon;
3. The unemployment rate was down to 4.4%.
4. Americans were enjoying historically-high home equity.
After Democratic Congress
1. Consumer confidence plummet
2. The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.25 a gallon;
3. Unemployment rise to 4.8% (a 9% increase);
4. American home equity hit the lowest point in six decades
.

Probably even half of the people on this site who bought a home they couldn't afford, put all their $$ in the stock market, or slacked off at work, cause you thought you had it good and now you actually have to WORK so you don't get laid off.. Whining liberals

Has it occurred to anyone else that John McCain WANTS to THROW the election? Irrational and non-sensical statements about his opponent, intended to incite fear and misunderstanding among party faithfuls, passing the bailout then being recorded immediately afterwards saying that it'll never work ( http://www.hulu.com/watch/37533/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-thu-oct-2-2008 ) not to mention his loose cannon running mate. I have to think that he's trying to tank the election for the Re-Pubs. Look, the guy is 72 - don't tell me thats' the new 50, either. With the shred of a soul he may still have, he's probably said to himself; "I don't want to spend my last few years mired in the slop that the Re-Pubs have festered. If this is the best my party has to offer, and after 8 yrs of lies and deception, it is apparent that's all they have - then I think I'll let this one go. My ego is big and my last remaining years are more important." The RNC probaly is in on it and told him that if he doesn't go out dragging Obama down with hi, that they'll never authorize another expense report with beer on it, anywhere.

Just in: "LOS ANGELES - An unemployed man with an advanced finance degree who was despondent over his own financial problems shot and killed his wife, three children, mother-in-law and then himself in an upscale home in a gated community, police said Monday."

But the McCain campaign thinks its better to "turn the page" and stick to smears and lies about Obama.

Sad, very sad!

The answer obviously isn't raising taxes, increasing government spending, taxing small businesses. In this economic climate, Obama's economic plan is disasterous. Tax and spend may work in good economic times, even then that can be refuted, but Obama will bring down the country with his tax plan.

Do you really think that taxes will not go up? How will this country survive such a large deficit created by the war in Iraq and wall street greed? Wake up, McCain will have to increase taxes. Oh put only the rich will get a decrease in their taxes...Thats the repubs way of doing business

Are you joking? After 8 years of George Bush tell me you aren't seriously thinking of voting republican!? It's the same party, same platform and same failed ideology. Not to mention, under Bill Clinton taxes were raised and we had the strongest economy in the nation's history. The "trickle-down" theory of Reaganomics has failed. It's time for a change.

The economy was fine, gas prices were reasonable, stock market rising, until the Dems took control of Congress. That cannot be refuted.

You can make up any scenario you want about our economy over the last 8 years. However, three things are certain :
1) The Republican philosophy of trickle down economics did not work
2) The Republican approach of deregulation did not work
3) The last major economic crisis (the Savings and Loan Scandal) also took place during the years of Republican "reign".

GO FIGURE

" The Republican approach of deregulation did not work"
---->Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are among a list of Democrats who took advantange of this nation and LIED. Meanwhile John McCain is asking for stricter regulations on Fannie and Freddie.. Obama voted NV (or would that be "present"

Don't you pinheads get it yet?

1. "Tax and spend" means one spends money one HAS.

2. Republican "BORROW and spend" means one spends money one MAY -- or MAY NOT -- have in the future.

1. is how one stays within one's budget.

2. is how one destroys the economy.

Thank you.. I stated earlier that Obama would raise taxes on small business (and I misquoted, forgive me).. He would like to raise it 50+%... SBA is the fundamental of our economy and Obama will destroy SBA. All in the name of a Marxist appraoch to Govt

One has to wonder, Mr. McCain why are spearheading this politic of destroy and divide at a time in our country when we are troubled on so many fronts... A real leader would put country first and run an honorable campaign at a time when our citizens are suffering in real time.

An Honorable Patriot wouldn't have a trend in his political campaign with the likes of Ayers, Acorn, Wright, Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Bernadine Dohrn , Mark Rudd.... He isn't looking out for America, Obama is looking out for numero uno.. Himself...

All the more reason not to vote for McCain, they are telling the american people that they do not have a plan nor an answer for them. Most importantly they don't even care how it is perceived.

    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:56 PM on 10/06/2008

Well, he's right, what can McCain say that won't go directly against what he's always said before(not that that seems to be a big deal to his campaign) or that will not be completely unappealing to the American people?

What is there to talk about right now but economics? Republicans never want to talk about economics that are affecting most Americans. That is the reason they need to be punished at the polls. They have sold their trickle down economics for too long, and you better believe McCain will surround himself with a set of advisors and staff similar to Bush's. All you need to do is look at his campaign staff to see the type of people he will surround him with. Republicans need to be taught a lesson at the polls- look out for Americans that earn below the 90the percentile or less than $250K, or else you are gone.

Just wait til after the election when America's next President will have to be decided by lawsuits and/or the house of representatives ---if Obama somehow does not "win" there is going to be racism on an unprecedented level in this country and the so-called pacifists will turn to "blood in the streets"

    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:21 PM on 10/06/2008

God wouldn't that be sweet. it is asking too much of the american people to finally take a stand against the socialist corporate welfare policies of the republiturds and take their guns to the streets. it would be so exciting to "cut off the kings head" and start over. not just his head but everyone that ever voted to bailout any private companies - all of them "chop". then have new elections with a few amendments to the constitution for death penalty reprecussions for anyone of the newly elected officials who try to pull the same krap. blood in the streets puts blood in my............you know!
