"The national committee supporting Democratic Senate candidates took the unprecedented step yesterday of launching an attack ad against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell," the Louisville Courier-Journal report, "indicating the Kentucky race is one the party thinks it can win."

The move comes after months in which the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee largely ignored Louisville businessman Bruce Lunsford's race against McConnell while sinking money into eight other campaigns across the country.

"Our private polling mirrors the public polling," Sen. Charles Schumer of New York, the committee's chairman, told reporters in Washington yesterday.

The Courier-Journal's Bluegrass Poll, taken Sept. 22-25, found that McConnell's double-digit lead had shrunk to one percentage point as the nation's economic woes deepened.

Asked if Kentucky is now more of a Democratic priority than it was only weeks ago, Schumer said: "It's very safe to say that."

As a supporter for Lunsford and a Kentucky resident, I'm going to say that's going to be hard for Lunsford to win. If Lunsford does win, i will be truly surprised.

The reason for this is because Mitch has been in office for decades, literally. Around the beginning of each election cycle, McConnell gives hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars to small towns all across Kentucky. This money goes to roads, schools, infrastructure, parks, etc. Therefore, when it's time to vote, McConnell's arguement is that he has given a large sum of money to these town and that if they want more funding, vote for McConnell. Across Kentucky, there are streets and maybe even schools named after this guy. In Frankfort (KY capital), there is a building named after him (not sure if that is his office).

MITCH MCCONNELL SUPPORTS STRIP MINING IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY, AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN THE REGION (WATER, JOBS, ECONOMY, WILDLIFE, ETC)

This guy is sleazy.

Mitch McConnell is such a creep. I agree it would be the cherry on top to get him booted out of office.

I do not like the style of the spot, the overlapping audio is nonsense.

As a Kentucky voter, I look forward to sending Mitch packing.

Is your child safe from Mitch and his nationalist socialist pals? Only if he is beaten in Nov.

I hope Obama-Biden will win this election (if the election is not stolen!)

And in case you care to help them visit DSCC and help Democrats for the Senate so they will not have to work with filibustering Republicans.

It can only be stolen if it's close! Hopefully, all the defeated GOPers will take the once honorable Senator Phil Gramm to the woodshed and stomp the snot out of him because he's the one responsible for their misery. And several gratuitious kicks for "President Cheney" too!
May they all suffer the fate of Alberto Gonzales: unindicted, unconvicted and unemployable...
