Obama: Wall Street Tumbles And All John McCain Can Do Is Stoke "Anger And Division"

Politico reports:

Barack Obama attacked John McCain Friday for launching a "barrage of nasty insinuations and attacks" as the stock market drops tumbles.

"Even as we face the most serious economic crisis of our time, even as you are worried about keeping your jobs or paying your bills or staying in your homes, my opponent's campaign announced last week that they plan to 'turn the page' on the discussion about our economy so they can spend the final weeks of this election attacking me instead," Obama said during a speech in Chillicothe, Ohio.

John Weaver, John McCain's former top strategist, says the Republican candidate is making both a moral and a tactical mistake by letting abusive hecklers have free rein at rallies:

"People need to understand, for moral reasons and the protection of our civil society, the differences with Senator Obama are ideological, based on clear differences on policy and a lack of experience compared to Senator McCain," Weaver said. "And from a purely practical political vantage point, please find me a swing voter, an undecided independent, or a torn female voter that finds an angry mob mentality attractive."

This lack of control and passive acceptance of what has been uttered at MC's rallies does not reinforce the concept of what constitutes a good leader. A leader needs to show strength and moral fortitude and lead by example. MC and Pa lin both should have, from the get-go, expressed their displeasure at what was being shouted by those at the rallies.
He should remember that he is running for a job to represent all Americans not just a select few. The situation this country is experiencing and the uncertainty of what is still in store, demands an exceptional individual to unite, guide and inspire us; to help us realize that we will overcome these perilous time.
