Now that Sarah Palin has been found to have abused her powers, violated state ethics, and lied about it, I did a little digging and found an interesting historical footnote.

The McCain/Palin ticket is the first in American history in which both candidates were found to have violated ethics standards before a national election.

What a TEAM OF MAVERICKS!!!

Oddly, the common definition of that word is number two at dictionary.com.

Here's number one:

"Southwestern U.S. an unbranded calf, cow, or steer, esp. an unbranded calf that is separated from its mother. "

Clara Peller said it best, years ago. "Where's the Beef:" Mavericky Beef.

No point here, just sayin'.

The mccain/palin cam"pain" has no clue, do they?

Ethics violations?

If only that were the worst they've done and the worst they actually are.

These are the faces of the American Taliban.

pity

Palin has not been found guilty of ethics violations. Neither the investigator who wrote the report nor the legislative council that requested it have the legal authority to convict her of anything. It's only the opinion of one man that broke state ethics laws.

Only the state personnel board can convict her of breaking the ethics law and they have not done so.

Regardless of how u perceive their ethics investigations, u must at least concede that they both were subject to them. Palin in fact has 2 ethic complaints against her record as well. She has been a governor for about the same time Obama has been campaigning for POTUS. To be fair, both political parties have members guilty of breaching the ethics code.

The Republican ticket, are not credible as ethical reformers to clean up Washington. Surely, we can agree that stopping special interest groups from unduly influencing legislation, is a major part of the change we want. We can"t trust McCain and Palin to officiate outside of their own self-interest and use their power of office within the parameters of public trust. Why not? Becos of their record.

McCain calls for his supporters to compare his and Obama"s record. I agree.
Obama is one of the authors of the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act (S. 2180).
Obama has sponsored three other ethics-related bills:
The Congressional Ethics Enforcement Commission Act (S. 2259)
The Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act (S. 2261)
The Curtailing Lobbyist Effectiveness through Advance Notification, Updates, and Posting Act (The CLEAN UP Act) (S. 2179)

Obama was willing to defy the leadership in Washington with other brave open anti-corruption Dems like Webb, Tester, Kerry and Feingold. It is the only reason Democrats have bragging rights on the "most sweeping ethics reform in history."

Incredible! We should be worried about the mentality of some in our Country. A neighbor of mine engaged in conversation with me as I passed her house. She had a sign..Another Democrat For McCain. I said...what's up with that? She spouted off Fox style trying to speak over my voice...that McCain is not a true American, and he is a Muslim...etc.! Well, I did not hold back. I said clearly, you are a racist! And there is no excuse for ignorance when all one has to do is find out the facts on both side via the internet..etc.

She called the police. They came and said..."She does not want you to talk with her any more." I said..look, as long as this is still a free Country and I have Freedom of Speech, I will speak out when someone engages me. I am not and will not be intimidated. And you officer, have better things to do than come to my house with her complaint. I am within my rights.

she called the popo's??? Wow! Good for you for sticking it to that Obama hater.

I also take issue with people regurgitating lies heard from somewhere/someone else which shows that alot of people don't take the time to educate themselves. The wonders of technology have allowed us to learn and educate ourselves on whatever we wish to learn.
