McCain Campaign Looking For Way To Win Without Colorado

CNN:

The McCain campaign is looking at an Electoral College strategy heading into the final two weeks that has virtually no room for error and depends heavily on a dramatic comeback in Pennsylvania, which hasn't backed a Republican for president in 20 years.

While Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado are still officially listed as McCain target states, two top strategists and advisers tell CNN that the situation in those states looks increasingly bleak. Iowa and New Mexico always have been viewed as difficult races, but the similar assessment of Colorado reflects a dramatic shift for a campaign that had long counted on the state.

The republicans will stop at nothing to at least prevent a landslide victory for Obama which is what he needs. A landslide will also take out down ticket repblicans. I honestly believe that McCain wants to quit but he is needed to raise money for the down ticket republicans. Question how can McCain keep up a 50 state attack when he only has 40 or so million left for October. Also, I have not seen any 527 ads in North Carolina. Do they have any money? Also, no more Liddy Dole ads in NC nor RNC ads in NC either.

A man in his fifties came to my house yesterday, (while I was at work) walked onto my lawn and proceeded to remove my Obama/Biden lawn sign. My wife who was home at the time with our two sick children opened the front door and asked what he thought he was doing. He said, "I didnt think anyone was home, I just wanted to borrow it". He then quickly jumped in his car and sped off.

How does nobody being home justify this man stealing my property? Or do you have to be a republican to understand this logic?

That is happening a lot around here. Some who have had more than one sign stolen, installed cameras, and there have been a couple of arrests.

When the local McCain campaign headquarters was contacted, they said they knew of no McCain/Palin signs being stolen. Just goes to show the difference in the types of people that the two campaigns attract.

I know it is really attractive to think that this election is all sewn up. But let me caution everyone to keep strong. This election is still pretty close (if you don't count the new voters). But new voter rolls can be caged. Then there is the 'Bradley Effect' and noone knows how that will effect Obama.
All I can say is please, please, please check your registration and vote early.

Let me tell you my story. I told it earlier in this thread but I feel it is worth repeating.

'......In 2000 I was pretty sure that Gore would win. In 2004, I was sure....SURE....that Bush would lose! Everyone I talked to were voting Democratic to get Bush out of office. I even helped get out the vote on election day by driving people to the polls. The lines were very long and most everyone was pretty Democratic and voting against Bush. I lived on the west coast then and everyone at headquarters watched the polls. The Dems had it knocked 'til about 3:00 PM. Everyone thought we would win. Then Ohio went "different" then the exit polling! We heard informally that there was alot of voting fraud in the east and central parts of the US that benefitted the Republicans.
Bush 'won' again.
I was and still am convinced this last election was stolen.
Never....NEVER....think this thing is sewn up. Never....NEVER....undersestimate the power and skullduggery of the neocons!'

WASHINGTON---The Obama campaign is putting a hefty price tag on the best camera and reporting positions for news organizations covering Barack Obama's outdoor election night activities in downtown Chicago. If a reporter wants access to the file center--which will be the best place to find Obama officials and spokesmen--be prepared to write a check for $935. The cheapest place a reporter could stand on a riser with a view is $880.




The sheer hubris of this guy is amazing! This is what drives people away from him . . . he preaches socialism but thrives in capitalism for himself.

I wonder if this is some way of helping cover the millions in illegal money he’s used to fund his campaign? After the election is over, and the investigations determine how much was contributed by illegal sources, that money will have to be given back or given away.

My Grandmother was the first and only person I knew as a child who was kind and loving.
I thought that cold showers, starvation, and being tied up and abandoned was a normal thing. I was a child, I didn't know any better.
When I got older ,Twelve, the belt became a steady thing. then the belt buckle, a little latter
When I was sixteen and old enough for a work licence, I got a job at the local A@P supermarket.
Changing cloths in the backroom, the other guys noticed the belt marks, and asked me about them.
I just said it was my dad.

The background to this is that my Grandma realized what was going on.
Back then, there wasn't much a person could do. It must have broken her heart.
She surrounded me with love. And that was a pretty good band aid.
BTW. My Parents were Church going Republicans.
I didn't put that two plus two until years later.

A few thoughts:
#1:Has anyone ever read the childs book "The emperor's new clothes";it very much reminds me of John McCain's campaign and campaign advisors. Will someone tell him he is naked before November 4th.
#2:Can anyone do the math for McCain's campaign. They act as though they are leading in polls. McCain HAS to win a democratic state in this election which one will it be. None when you are behind in points in the last round you have to knock the person out to win.
#3:The media (left and right) are not putting out the real numbers. In my theory Obama is ahead by at least 16% points but with this being a black candidate (bi-racial truthfully) they can't let the black man have the glory for running a superior campaign.
#4:Thank Penny Pritzker, The Kennedys, and Howard Dean for a full-court press of a campaign make them work for every state. Also, pat yourself's on the back for supporting a real candidate
#5:We are having a party at the Obama hq in Downtown Greensboro North Carolina the night of the election if you are within driving distance please come out. Every town should be doing this
