For the GOP, the cavalry apparently isn't coming.

Republicans attuned to conservative third-party efforts say that with less than two weeks to go until Election Day, the prospects for any 11th-hour, anti-Obama ad campaign are highly unlikely.

Many in the party, including inside the McCain campaign, have held out hope that a deep-pocketed benefactor would emerge to bankroll ads in the campaign's final days - spots that might, for example, resurrect the most incendiary clips from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

There is Ashley Todd, of course. If she is legit, if the attack was politically motivated and not a hoax engineered by her boss, who is alleged to be one of the National College Republicans fake plumbers seen at McCain rallies--that group is reportedly being investigated for coercing elderly people into making donations--more is the pity. The Republicans have been inciting violence from the beginning and at this point, some of it might have perked down. If, on the other hand, this is a repeat of the Towanda Brawley sceneario, expect McPalin to say that Todd is a Democrat, a Muslim and a socialist plant. Furthermore, Ayers done. And stay tuned for a RNC press release revealing that reports of Obama and either Mrs., Hitler or Mrs. Bin Laden have had a love child. No bread, but pure circus, no?

The way these guys have screwed up everything except their capacity to steal money. I can't see them doing well in any of their other aspirations and schemes, They seem to be on a roll that's leading to failure. So regardless of what they have planned or attempt to do in the future, you can rest assured it will backfire and become a total disaster for them. There is just a nimbus and aura of defeat that hangs over them that predicts their destiny. And no matter how blusterous their hate radio prodigies rate and rave with misguided hubris and self confidence. They are similar to Custer's army, blistering for a fight that unwittingly brings it's own destruction.

The Republican party is a one trick pony. They have used fear to divide us for so long that it isn't even news. They only ones to buy into it are the "base". Even if Bush couldn't say it: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

He tossed it out there hoping to get what they call traction; the media picking up on it and showing the old tapes, etc. It didn't take, so they are awaiting a "political sugar daddy" fool enough to throw money down an empty hole.

After awhile, even if his negatives comments were true, voters get tired of it. The fact he seems to make stuff up as he goes along, makes it even worse. Americans need positive messages right now about the economy, jobs, etc., not more rhetoric about whatever he or his campaign can dream up to try to smear Obama.
