Jamie Foxx is a big Barack Obama fan, and talked to Newsweek about it when he did a Q&A to push his Sirius radio show.

You took the show to the Democratic Convention. How was that? We had a blast just being there and watching history. I was up there with all the serious journalists, which was cool for me because who would have thought?

What makes you such a big Obama supporter?
Oprah introduced me to him and I just loved how cool the brother is. We need a cool president. But I'm nervous. You never know how it may turn out. I will have a party if he wins, but a quiet party because we've got a lot of work to do once he gets in there.

What did you think about the reaction to Colin Powell supporting Obama?
Please. If that had been someone like me I'd understand because I'm going to always say "I'm voting for the brother!" But Colin Powell? If he had wanted to be down with the brothers he never would've been a Republican.

Jamie means we don't want a war monder President. We don't need a President attacking other countries without concret reason. We don't need a President who spends like a sailor.

Jamie Foxx, please. "Tookie" band wagon jumper, a man who helped create one of the most lethal
(to Blacks) criminally moronic gangs in the history of gangs, yep, sure do respect anything he has to say.

I would be happy with a president who doesn't drool, can stay up past 10:00pm and works on weekends. I guess Obama is my candidate.

Is Jamie Foxx in the 8th grade?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:15 PM on 10/28/2008

Why do you want to know?

If we are comparing grade levels, remember Palin couldn't even answer the question posed to her by a 3rd grader........................ So I guess Jamie Foxx is much smarter than Palin.

Don't forget that McCain graduated at the bottom of his class, even though his father and grandfather pulled strings to have him admitted, and Palin has yet to produce a college diploma even though she went to 6 colleges to try to get one.

We need a cool president?

If Obama is elected we will be putting up with four years of this Hollywood idiocy?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:12 AM on 10/28/2008

Hey! One of the reasons why Obama is cool? It's 'cause he's SMART.
We've had 8 years of Stupid. When Bush was in office, people were actually convinced that Stupid was cool.
To use your brain and think things out was actually thought of as not cool! Thinking? Forgetaboutit.
Critical thinking, logic, intellectual curiosity....all for the rubbish heap.
Now? We are about to have a president who THINKS. Who works things out. Engages others in discussion and conversation. Oh.My.God....and he's articulate!!! He has an active mind!
How freakin' cool is THAT?!!!
I hope that with an Obama presidency, kids will see how cool it is to KNOW THINGS! To look up stuff you don't know. To analyze.
I want to hear kids say "President Obama is cool 'cause he's hella-smart! I want to be just like him! Mom, Can I have a library card?!"

Bush is NOT stupid. It is the usual liberal trope, pretending that those with whom they disagree are stupid. This excuses their lack of substantive discussion, apparently.

Obama is a bright fellow. Unfortunately, a bright fellow with a lot of bad ideas for the country.

Hi, Mr. Foxx. Sorry, but cool is not necessarily GOOD! Count Dracula was cool to some.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:41 AM on 10/28/2008

Cool can be translated into a lot of things: cool cars can be very stylist looking cars, cool mother can be a very understanding mother, who lets you and your friends stay up an extra hour late, cool brother can be an intelligent brother, who helps you through every calculus problem and so many many more. I guess what I'm trying to say is Mr. Foxx is just generalizing the term "cool". I'd bet if you ask him to clarify his "cool" statement, he'd definitely elaborate.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:17 AM on 10/28/2008

One suspects that, based on his prior statements, he couldn't elaborate very well. Why don't you try?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:44 PM on 10/28/2008

But that's the point! Since cool is such a non-specific term, why attach much significance to it?

Count Dracula was a fictional character in a novel, tr0ll.

I'll vote for Obama despite the celeb endorsement.

bush is not cool, who are these people, he was a dummy in 2000, and they scared us to death in 2004, somehow because Bush did not drool on the mic at the debate people gave him way more credit than he deserved, are Americans really this petty and pessimistic,
obama is extramely smart, and then he is not a nerdy smart guy, he has a coolness about him, not cool as in black, just a cool, WTF is wrong with you people, why do Ameruicans love to hate Americans for BS reasons, dammit we are in two wars, and and economic meltdown, we nee dthe smart guy on this one, not some maverick, or stallion, or cowboy, we need the smart guy who will listen and make and informed thoughtful decision about the issues of our times.
My goodness I am so sick of the atitude,a dn low ball tone these comments take all too often about a fellow American. it woudl be different if any of US were actually perfect, but no one is perfect, except GOD, so get a grip and recognize what our nation needs, especially after having blinders on for 8 darn years and bvlindly voting GOP like their plans actually got any better, they had no plan for America, just a plan for big business, and you see where their poor planning got us ALLL, EVERYBODY IS PAYIN 4.00 GAS MAN, I MEAN FOR REAL , GET A LIFE, GET A FACT STRAIGHT

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:28 AM on 10/28/2008

Gas was around 2 bucks in 2006 when LIBERAL DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER THE HOUSE AND THUS CONTROLLED ALL OF CONGRESS. Their obstructionism to drilling for oil produced higher gas prices--while if Bush policies had been followed, we would still be having 2 dollar gas or less.

If Bush and McCain's proposals for reforming Fannie and Freddie and holding the corrupt politicians accountable had been passed by Congress rather than blocked, we would not have had the financial crisis and mortgage meltdown.

It is a neat trick to cause so much havoc and then blame Bush for it, but it isn't neat to be so gullible and ignorant that you fall for it.

Are you better off now than in 2006, when Democrats took over Congress?

Do you honestly believe a word of what you wrote? Congress does not set oil prices, and the rest of your comment is total tr0ll non sense.

Lessee, when "Dubbaya" got to the White House, there was a HUGE budget surplus and Bill was running the show for that one.

Now we have one of the LARGEST deficits in history masterminded by the LOWEST rated President in history.

You seem rather intelligent, so I trust you see the correlation there. If not, I just gave you waaaaay too much credit.

Oh, one other thing. I seem to remember that McCain blamed Obama for gas prices going up... I trust there will be some sort of acknowledgment that he is also responsible for them going down (not really but I was making a point to show how utterly inane that statement was for John the Planer Crasher to make).

Well, we NEED a SMART President............... but let's see what we'll actually GET!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:03 AM on 10/28/2008

I have to agree with the folks who say we need a smart President. Fortunately for us Barack is just that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:44 AM on 10/28/2008

Smart? Is cutting back the military smart right now? Clinton, calling it a "peace dividend," gutted the military and then, later, by golly, we really needed those 8 divisions and other units that he cut. That's one reason the military has been overextended.

There is nothing more expensive than a military not up to the job.

Well, maybe "free health care" is more expensive. I'll have to think about that...
